Over the years I've continuously heard of sparring stories between Rid**** Bowe and Tommy Morrison/Razor Ruddock. Allegedly Ruddock knocked Bowe out cold while Morrison made him quit with a body punch.

Is there any confirmation of these stories? I do know that Bowe and Ruddock were friends, I believe it was after his fight with Bonecrusher Smith that Bowe congratulated Ruddock in the ring.

Holyfield used to beat up Bowe during sparring, hence why when they actually fought Holyfield thought Bowe would quit midway through the fight.

Bowe also struggled with Tyrell Biggs, during sparring, sometimes just going through the motions.

There is footage of McCall sparring with Tyson, getting hit by a liver shot and then quiting he was in so much discomfort from the blow.

These sparring sessions are all over youtube under Steve Lott's account. So you can actually watch and see for yourself. They had some wars in there.

I saw the comments about Bowe sparring Holyfield and Biggs in a documentary before their third fight I believe.

Bowe was lazy in training and in the gym, but he was different in fights. He beat all the guys that supposedly beat him up in sparring, Tillery, Tubbs, Holyfield, etc.
Futch didnt want any part of Bowe initially because he thought he was too lazy and he would waste his time. He told Bowe he was going out of town and told him how he wanted him to train and he would decide. He used this as a way to test Bowe to see if he was serious. He went to a point where Bowe was supposed to be running and waited and waited for him to go run by. Just as he figured he was right and Bowe didnt listen to him, he appeared running over the hill. Thats how Futch and Bowe started. Bowe was another under achiever who didnt take training seriously, and all these stories swirled about how he got beat up in the gym, but really you never saw in a fight, until time caught up with him for cutting so many corners.
The fighters who lived clean and stayed in the gym were able to extend their careers, the guys who went up in and down in weight and didnt do anything on their off time, grew old quick no matter how talented they were.

Salty, unless im mistaken futch eventually quit bowes camp because he couldnt get him to rededicate after the first holyfield fight.
