As much as I dislike Kov for his blatant racism, he is going to finish Ward. Ward's style has been effective against many fighters but I doubt it works with Kov.

    1. Kov is crafty as well, and patient.
    2. Andre does not have the chin of Bhop or Pascal
    3. Ward is actually NOT a great defensive fighter. He is crafty, like a Bhop, but not defensively gifted like Pernell or Floyd.
    4. Kov's jab is longer and he has good power and accuracy with it.

Ward is capable of timing Kovalev and getting the better of him that way, but he isn't defensively skilled enough to do it for 12 rds and not get dropped, and even if he does time Kov well, I have my doubts that Ward will do anything with it, other than lunge in and hold.

Don't get me wrong, Ward is an excellent fighter. I just think stylistically his craftiness won't win him more than 4 or 5 rounds.

Ward is going to have to fight kovalev on the inside and smother his power make it an ugly fight and use his superior athleticism to score on the outside then go back inside.

he can't clinch Kova off, like he likes to against punchers.
And at distance he can't do much either with that jab constantly in his face.

I actually begin to think it would be horribly onesided as well.

I think Ward pulls it out, but Kovalev is truly a beast. The only fighter out there that gives me pause when I think about Ward beating.

Kovalev will take the Ward fight serious again, you will see a Kovalev like agaisnt B-Hop, just that he goes this time for the knockout. Ward can't take thse shots.

But let's no talk like Ward will fight Kovalev 100 percent. He has to win his next fight first and his opponent is not Paul Smith.

Ward's difficulties will be Kovalev's jab, a good jab has always been the reason he has lost rounds in the past - and the fact that Kovalev is just immensely strong and has a mean streak. Bullying Kovalev will be very, very difficult.

Ward's advantage is handspeed, and a lower center of gravity.

I favor Kovalev to win, because of the jab though -especially the jab to the body. As long as Kovalev keep his jab centered low and doesn't let Ward get away with too much weaving low and in and out it will be a very, very tough night for Ward.

He just played with Pascal like a rag doll. Ward will be thrash slowly and methodically, Virgil will have no choice #virgilgetthetowel
