Can some one please help me with this because I am not understanding. If Canelo holds just the WBC middleweight belt and GGG holds the IBO,IBF,WBC and WBA belt. So please explain to me how people say that Canelo is the champ and he gets to dictate how this gets to go. I'm not trying to start anything, I truly don't understand how this works?

Lol don't be an idiot man! I wonder why Cinammon hasn't mentioned 160 hmmmmm

And wtf does Ortiz or Guerrero have to do with this!? Neither one had the right to be divas and neither does Canelo. And did Floyd even do any CW bs with them?

Do you even know what mandatory is? A middleweight mandatory? Well with a name like El Chicano, I guess we can't expect much from you other than rooting for your "raza", right?

I asked the same questions about Floyd vs Canelo. Floyd and Canelo were both champs at 154. GGG and Canelo are both champs at 160.

If Floyd vs Canelo didn’t have a catchweight then we probably wouldn’t be having any of this talk. Floyd was too scared to fight Canelo at the normal weight, which unfortunately started a catchweight trend in boxing.

Objectively, the same can be said for GGG if he refuses to at least try
    to negotiate.

Pinche Canelo! He really just man up and fight at 160! If I was in GGG position I would do the same. Who cares if he's the cash cow. They both are at the same weight on fight night
I'm not a Canelo hater, but I have been in disagreement in his whole position on fighting GGG at 155. I just can't back him up on that one.
It really is a bunch of BS that the cash cows get to dictate ridiculous diva demands.

No need to negotiate, fight should be at 160.

Objectively that's not true as long as K2 willing to take a purse-bid percentage of , I think WBC is 25% right?

As long as they are willing to take the short money, which they should here - then 160 or vacate is totally fair.

Who gives a damn what any boxer makes? WE aren't getting a cut of the profits, so shut up with that ****. Alvarez needs to fight at 160 or vacate. If GGG only makes a few million in his career because he didn't fight the big names like Mayweather or Alvarez, I'm sure he'll still be up by a few million compared to where he started.

There asking a guy like Golovkin who already got off to a late start in the pros? Let me get this right. There asking Golovkin to pass up money fights to fight some other guy in another division, doesn't matter who it is really, pick anybody. So he is supposed to take on these low pay/ legacy fights and pass on the bigger money? Your asking him to sacrifice something that he has every right to exersize as he chooses! lol

GGG and Canelo are two of my favorite fighters(GGG at 1 and Canelo at 3) so I'm
trying to stay objective here. GGG is pretty much in the same position as Canelo was vs Floyd and Cotto and those two fights were made cause Canelo was willing to take the short money and the catchweight.

It really is depressing when you see fans talk like this. No wonder fighters and promoters can get away with ruining the sport by demanding catchweights and defending titles whilst not fighting at that titles stipulated weight. They see fans like the OP defending this nonsense and they know they can continue to get away with it.

When did boxing fans turn into OK magazine reading teenage girls?

Just for TS, recently GGG said that he doesn't have anything with K2, it is Loeffler who is acting under K2 licence and nothing else.

    I don't understand the problem.

If you hold a 160lbs belt then defend it at 160lbs or give it up.
