The point is, it proves that Kov isn't the T-1000 that some of his fans will try and have you believe.

In this video, he gets put on his back:

So we know what would had happen if a guy with Roy's speed and power caught him flush.

Darnall Boone has also dropped him.

The only fighter on Roy's resume I would possibly favor over Kovalev is Toney.. After that there really isn't much there I would pick to win.. Possibly huggy bear Ruiz makes it an ugly fight but I still wouldn't favor him at this point even though not knowing how Kovalev would look at HW.

So Hall must have also been drinking much more of the same drink?
If many things contain banned substances, surely many fighters would know not to take them and why would they if there was no advantage with doing so?
I recall a story a while back when S Johnson was WBC LW champ and came to the UK to defend against B Schwer. Look it up if you dont know it and see how similar it seems with the ripped fuel incident

Toney was losing to Thadzi at LHW as well as Griffin. I wouldnt favour him to beat Kovalev

You dont know what would happen in any fight. All are different.
Look at how Pascal put Hopkins down twice yet wasnt able to knock him down once in a return.
Look at how Pacquiao put Marquez down several times but never stopped Marquez, yet in a 4th fight Marquez stopped Pacquiao
Look at how Lewis went 24 rounds with Holyfield yet it was Ruiz who dropped Holyfield

Because historical elite Light Heavies knocked out men like Ruiz. Jones can't win a fire fight with Langford, Charles, Moore...etc. They we're used to mixing it up with 20 to 40 Pound heavier men.

They cut weight for title fights than but packed as back on as possible, fighters like Moore and Bivins we're regulary 180 to 200 pounds.

I think it is an interesting styles match up.. Toney is iron chinned and great at slipping and countering which I feel he would have success with against Kovalev. Obviously only if Toney showed up in shape.

And nobody here saw that fight so we don't know what happened exactly. The knockdown might have happened because of Kovalev was off balance, who knows.

Paz is what you guys accuse Kov of being.

And the other three are the type of average contenders you give Kov **** about knocking out.

Who knows with Ruiz, he is the only HW titlist who managed to drop his belt twice to not one but two former middles. He also lost to two former cruisers.

Had he fought Chris Byrd it would have likely been losses to three former middles.:yep

A little off topic, but does anyone else think Kovalev-DM would have been a great fight? I see lots of hard punches being exchanged in that one.
