Why AJ v Haye isn't the biggest fight in the UK

Haye claiming him against Anthony will be bigger than Bruno v Lennox, no way would that be the case the reason being Bruno and Lennox were Hero's to the UK public!
It's certainly NOT the biggest fight has Mr Haye forget TYSON FURY is the world champ and achieved everything Haye is talking about!
Haye imo beat a poor champ in Valuev and defended against opponents on the slide until his very poor performance against Klitchko, of co**** he will look good against inferior opponents but not against the elite heavies

 

Mostly agree actually.

I do think Haye is very good but still - to a degree - unproven at world HW level

It is the biggest fight in British boxing right now. Maybe money wise the biggest fight in British boxing history but in terms of boxing levels probably not better than lennox v bruno

 

although i agree with everything you are saying it is like the pot crying the kettle black lol

you were screaming about ricky when he was champ like he was an elite fighters and no 1 in division blah blah blah but in reality he beat a decent fighter in rocky martinez who is nowhere near elite level then fought very poor opposition until he was battered by raymundo beltran and was totally outclassed by terence crawford. even crawford at the time wasn't elite although he may end up that way.

of course haye will big up a fight with aj as it makes the most money out there and probably even more than if he fought tyson fury because aj has caught the publics imagination and can sell arenas and ppv. and that is something that tyson fury has so far been unable to do and i don't think him being champion will change that, i actually think that david haye is still a bigger draw than tyson fury.

 

I wonder if Haye had known just how unfairly his career would have been judged due to his lack of ambition against Wlad, if he would have been more aggressive and actually tried to win that fight.

Ah well it's still a pretty big fight though.

Fury may be a better HW than Haye but that is partly because he's naturally a big HW whereas Haye's naturally a big CW. Haye still was/is a very good fighter, one of the best in Britain at the time during his prime.

that might well be the case but tyson fury can't sell out arenas and david haye can that is a FACT. so saying that aj vs haye isn't the biggest fight is very misleading because if that fight were to be made it would probably be the biggest in terms of money in the uk.

 

yes he was num 1 super feather in the world but that doesnt make you elite lol for someone in boxing you really sometimes baffle me by your lack of knowledge on these things. which elite fighter/s has martinez beat to class him as elite? let me answer for you NONE. he was a decent champion at a time when the super feather division was very poor and even you can't deny that.

i help in an amateur gym, mostly with young boxers so i don't see what that has got to do with anything when we are speaking about professional boxing. nowhere in my post was i being disrespectful towards you or ricky but just pointing out FACT and imo it is something that you don't seem to deal with very well.
