It seems people that are closely involved in boxing (coaches & fighters) have a different view of Amir to your average fan...there is alot of respect for him and hesitation from trainers in fighting him.

    Why is this?

Most recent example Roach saying they avoided him with Cotto...your average boxing fan even Khan fan would feel Cotto KO's him...
Arum doesn't like to put his fighters near him
Roach clearly has respect for him even though he does sht talk him alot
Lots of high quality fighters are hesitant of him...

Roach thinks Khan can outbox Canelo.
It's just these guys in forums. They just hate Khan because he's a minority, has money and a pretty wife.
Khan has very good boxing ability, he's been trained by Roach and now his defensive fragilities have been ironed out by Virgil Hunter.
Khan has a terrible chin, one of the worst in boxing, but he still goes out and beats very good opposition like Maidana, Judah, Algieri, Peterson etc.
Khan also keeps trying to get up and carry on even when his body is no longer responding. You're not a fan of boxing if you can't respect him.
When will Khan get his credit? Smh.

Because when Khan is focused he is dangerous to any fighter. Look what he did to Alexander. He boxed his head off for 12 rounds. People will say Alexander is a bum and what have you but no one has made him look as bad as Khan did.

Khan is very, very fast and combined with his long reach is very awkward. He has a simple style. Two, three punch combinations out again. His chin is obviously questionable however.

It's intriguing because these fighters grow up around each other and are very very well rehehersed in the exploits and careers of their opponents. Their knowledge goes well beyond just a resume...

How many of these dudes must have seen Khan winning silver in 2004 and idolized him? I know lots of British fighters who are currently champions did....

'Khan is avoiding everybody' - even though Khan was learning under Virgil Hunter, who needs time to adequately train his fighters.
Even though Khan beat Algieri (who beat Provodnikov and Taylor).
'Khan is avoiding people who can punch' - Julio Diaz was a stylistic threat and can punch.

Guess what? Khan is going to beat a much bigger, elite guy in Canelo who's a Light Heavyweight during fight night. Khan has courage. He wants the best!

Think they're all just waiting for him to get older, slow down. The speed goes eventually but, as they say, the one thing you never lose is a glass jaw. Well they actually say, 'the one thing you never lose is your power'.... but it works for weak chins too.

Very good fighters don't struggle vs Algeri and get koed by Danny Garcia. They don't look lost at sea when having to fight inside (Peterson fight).

Khan is a warrior and always in entertaining fights but his cv doesn't lie. There are many holes in it for someone who people call elite.

People see the quick hands and seem to forget about everything else.

Mediocre fighters don't beat Maidana, KO Judah, beat Peterson despite looking 'lost at sea' on the inside against Peterson who unfairly got the decision. Styles make fights, Algieri wasn't going to be an easy fight, and we know Algieri beat both Provodnikov and Taylor.

Khan is not elite, that's for sure. But I feel he still has something to offer to amaze us all in the next couple of years before he has nothing left.

Where is the British support for Khan? I'm seeing less of it than I would have expected.

If Khan wants respect he should fight the only fight everyone actually wants to see him in, him vs Brook.

This fight is silly and just a way to avoid the real challenges at WW while making some great money fighting a big name guy and looking like he's brave because it's a fight he can't really win. All good, nothing wrong with wanting to make money and getting respect for what will very likely be a bad loss. But if he wants real respect, then fight the dude that everyone wants to see you fight, don't just chase after the Pac, Floyd, and Canelo money fights.

It's 'cause he talks a bunch of annoying ****ing smak and his whole attitude is just annoying in general.

Mother****ers just can't not throw down the ****ing race card.

Do you have no concept of valuation? The more common something is, the less it is valued. So by crying race every ****ing time you disagree with somebody , you cause a ****load of people to NOT PAY ATTENTION to actual agregious racism. You create this reaction : "...ffs, here we go again..."

I wouldn't say he struggled with Algeiri. I would say he was unprepared for his gameplan. They weren't expecting him to come forward as he did. People talk of Algeiri as if he is some bum as well. He beat Provodnikov for the world title.

Garcia is currently undefeated. There is no shame in losing to him.

I don't think it had anything to do with the gameplan it's just Khan doesn't like pressure and doesn't pop hard enough to stop fighters coming forward.

No shame losing to Garcia but let's be honest very little people picked Garcia to win that fight. Khan has the superior speed and some would say boxing skills yet he still got timed and once he did there was no recovery.
