very true.. I said Khan has good skills but not great. I do agree his best asset is his speed... and yeah Canelo's timing and counter punching is going to be too much to deal with, not to mention the power and size difference.

Nelo by KO. But Khan has a shot if he fights a disciplined fight and uses his speed with a lot of holding. Amir just isn't as cerebral as Floyd and not as durable as Cotto. I think he gets into a toe to toe and ends up looking up at the lights before 12.

I think Khan has some skills, but he doesn't have the best instincts or composure and often just falls back onto his instincts.

One instance is the Collazo fight, which I think may have been his best performance. He was throwing some good combinations, not his arm flurries, but more deliberate combinations (creating and exploiting openings). He was also putting some leverage in those combos, particularly the body shots that dropped Collazo late. He was throwing a nice double right hand. He was showing better defensive maneuvers, countering, and I remember ducking some shots early on, although they were telegraphed by Collazo. But later in the fight, he was falling back into bad habits, it seems like his instinct is to hold on defense or simply to try to use a high guard, which several fighters have broken. He held so much and pushed Collazo's neck down so much that he got a point taken away. Paulie Malignaggi was commentating and pointed out that after he got the point taken away, Collazo was able to hit him with some shots because Khan wasn't able to hold. He had the point deduction on his mind, and couldn't hold. He probably had forgotten the defensive moves he had been using earlier, and got hit.

This was just one instance and he dominated that fight, but those kind of weaknesses showed up again when he struggled against Algieri. Algieri of all people tried to turn into a pressure fighter and almost beat Khan, because Khan gets flustered out of his game and resorts to his instincts and gets all sloppy. Someone like Mayweather is such a smart and technically sound boxer that it's seemingly ingrained in him to do the right things in the ring if someone is trying to fluster him.

Khan's going to end up like he did in the Prescott fight.

Cotton is the same guy who almost got knocked out by Floyd Mayweather at 154 with clown gloves. You can't be serious.

"Cotton" beat Shane Mosley who would have DECAPITATED Khan

Ok, that was before Cotton had the prime beaten out of him by bricks Margarito.

You think the Cotton of the Mosley fight was the same after being pummeled by bricks for 10 rounds straight? :patsch:lol::rofl

I'm serious. Cotto is more durable and that's not even up for debate. Moving up in weight will also factor into how Khan handles the size, power and strength of Nelo. Amir has a suspect chin. Having heart and the ability to survive is different than being able to absorb flush shots without the side effects. Khan is very talented but has major liabilities when it comes to his chin......but, he still has a shot....depending on the strategy he applies and if he has the ability to stick to the game plan

Khan, like Vlad Klitschko, doesn't take shots well. He freaks out, looses his composure and looks to tied up when tagged with a good shot. That's when he just fights on instinct abandoning the game plan. He can't suck it up and fight his way out of trouble.
So yeah, you take away allowing him to clinch and tie up and he's in trouble. He knows he doesn't take shots well. Khan will always have trouble with those durable pressure fighters that can take shots if he not allowed to clinch.

Even if the ref allows him to tie up Canelo, he's going to be in trouble cuz Canelo is too strong and will out muscle him and bang his body when tied up.

Alvarez SHATTERS Khan's fragile mandible. The glass is gonna be flying all over the place in this fight - for as long as it lasts, which won't be that long, btw.

AND "Cotton" came back and beat Margarito in the rematch. Yes, the same Margarito who would have DECAPITATED Khan as well, lol.

I would HATE to be at ringside at that one. The amount of the shattered substance that will be flying projectile style in all directions is staggering!
