for the kind of warrior that canelo tries to represent, this is some weak ass sauce. you got a beast tearing up your own house, and you run to fight the girl outside instead.
if ggg was not around kicking sand in his face over a belt he hasnt really earned, this would be an acceptable fight. he has fought a whos who of opponents around his weight... except for the consensus #1.

Just because Golovkin chose to not fight Andre Ward at 168 and demanded 164 does not excuse Canelo from even more low integrity behavior.

Two wrongs don't make a right here.

As for Canelo he shouldn't be fighting Amir Khan at 155. It's a low integrity business decision.

Its a bit ridiculous I mean khan isn't even a big welterweight, even if the fight was at light middleweight it would be considered khan being dragged up in weight

What happens if khan wins? Be funny if he fought Crawford then and the lineal middleweight title kept making its way down to flyweight all while the wbc keep given the new champ one optional defense

Golovkin was Cotto's WBC mandatory, but although WBC promised Golovkin the fight, Cotto paid step aside money to keep from getting knocked out by Golovkin for the 160 lb. title...................so the WBC promised, gave their word, that Golovkin would be the mandatory for the winner of El Pollo Alvarez/Cotto, well, now El Pollo has refused to fight Golovkin as everyone predicted. Oscar is a huge disappointment, he believes that boxing fans are idiots...............boxing appears to be crooked............and this is the 160 lb. title..............Golovkin weighs-in at 159, El Pollo Alvarez is afraid of Golovkin, no doubt about it. The WBC appears to have broken their rules once again, but then Wilder has refused to fight Povetkin 3 times. Rumors are that Wilder will give up the WBC paper title and fight the bum for the IBF.........................would not surprised me at all.....................

You’re exaggerating. It’s not ridiculous when you realize it’s only an 8 lb difference. Fighters move up a weight class all the time. How do you think this affects the 147 lb title picture though? Is Khan still Danny Garcia’s next opponent?

    It was pretty obvious.
    Yeah. People shouldn't be surprised.

Alvarez was going to fight a Robert Guerrero-Amir Khan-type. And Golovkin was going to fight a Tureano Johnson-Dominic Wade-type.

As Arum said best, "let the cake bake."

...it always sucks. But logically ensuring the payday and milking it almost always happens. And don't be surprised if the milking goes a little further than we'd all like to believe from both camps.

Should be stripped of belts. Plain and simple. Fighting a welterweight at a ridiculous catchweight is beyond ridiculous.

He can add a weight class, the Caneloweight.

Kush, Mexican boxing is great for the sport but Canelo are making mexicans look bad.:-(
I think you should jump off canelo bandwagon. He is disgracing the sport.

the most blame and shame here lies with the wbc for sanctioning this. its not right.
