Yes and no. If both just run around the ring yes, in clinch - no. The bigger guy just need to hold and lean on the smaller guy, even if they are about the same height. Haye Chisora is a good example of that. Haye looked more tired at the end before he connected his money shot.

The thing is: the small guy has to run and the big guy can take control of the middle of the ring, relax and wait for the right opportunity to pull the trigger.

    It's like duck hunting.

Look at Martin vs Glazkov: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IBAmwG3ff0

And you also have the psychological effect as well, when the bigger guy sees that he's about to break the smaller guy's spirit he gains more confidence and controls the breath properly, thus consume his energy better. Thus an energy boost.

Look at Professor Wladimir Klitschkos long reign.

Larry Holmes was tubby when he was prime at 213. But in your post you're inferring that fat, way past it, middle-aged Holmes is better than the prime one. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

And no, it's NOT the only example I gave considering that the other I mentioned was past it Holyfield giving prime Lennox hell in their 2nd bout despite the OBVIOUS physical advantages Lennox enjoyed.

Wow, that's not a nice thing to say, lol. I like Sergey and think he's terrific, but are you going to even try to compare his and Ali's resume? Shouldnt you even try to wait until Sergey beats a great lightheavyweight first and then reflect on his career at its end? Feel free to make an ass of yourself some more. But actually I take great comfort in knowing that it doesn't matter where you're from because Muhammed Ali is better than any heavyweight your country has produced.

It depends against the opponent. With Mercer - Yes, Holmes had an edge coming in heavier.

Against someone like Wladimir Klitschko, Holmes would have to come in at his peak weight for speed.

the smaller guy needs to BOX, you mean.

and if he runs, the bigger guy needs to run to keep up too. Hes got less time to land his big ones in after all, seeing as his biggest asset will gas him out faster.

Which "American All Time Greats" from the past are you talking about being overrated?

Then name me which other non-American fighters of that time don't get their dues but you feel were better or more accomplished than them. Thank you.

Thank you for equivocally stating that middle aged, past it, fat Larry Holmes was a better fighter than the prime one in terms of matchup against the likes of Mercer:lol::patsch. Now say goodbye to your credibility:hi:.

    the fun continues.

why even write stuff like this? does a country really exist where all meanings are reversed a la Sacha Baron Cohens The Dictator? If so I'd guess this is where these guys are typing their messages from.
