In an ideal world - how would you map out Kovalev's next 5 opponents

Start with a keep busy fight by taking out the trash Chickenson in March , probably will only last a round or two so fight Fonfara a month later then take 2 months off and destroy Ward in July . Then move back to Russia start a religious cult and live happily ever after

exactly but that's the thinking of a lot of top modern fighters now. even when the supposobly hard fight turns out to be easy they still face a can because they think they deserve it, its a joke

o don't think kovalev has this mindset though.

froch is an example of a modern fighter who had a great mentally and never took easy fights

he fought pascal,taylor,dirrell,kessler,abraham,johnson,ward,bute,(mack),Kessler, groves x2

he admitted that mack was he's easy fight though but tbh he was after having 8 top fights in a row and 1 easy fight out of 12 is okay. but some guys are like, I took one challenge, now I get to have an easy fight

I agree with your 3 opponents, I however believe a move up to CW would be a fools gambit. Not because he wouldn't be competitive, but because there are no notable American names. For all intents and purposes, Kovalev is an American based fighter and that move would do nothing for exposure over here.

 

What about Roid. He's a notable name and I would favor Kovalev to defeat him :nod
