Callum Smith Vs George Groves

Groves needs to get in line

 

groves will do what he did to degale.

 

Smith stoppage; I think Groves' best days are behind him.

 

As i have said for over a year Callum Smith beats him, all wrong for him.

 

Callum might be catching Groves at the right time.

Then again, Rocky Fielding is no GG.

60/40 in favour of GG at the moment.

 

Groves wins for me.

Callum hasn't fought anyone of note and was less than impressive against Rebrasse. If George fights to a smart game plan he will win with ease.

 

He has beat an average quality of opponent as good as Groves in his career, in half the time as a pro. He beat Rebrasse better than Groves. Look at Groves other than a decision v a novice DeGale (which he shouldn't have got) his best wins as a pro are Paul Smith and Rebrasse. Callum Smiths are against Rebrasse and Nikola Sjekloca (who he beat a lot easier than Abraham did).

 

Both are..s.h.iiiiit

 

Scorecards were a joke for Smith v Rebrasse. From what I remember from the fight is that he gave Smith problems and won a few. Groves won nearly, if not every round.
I think Smith would stop Groves now. George looks to have slowed too much.

 

Groves to smart and would pot shot callum. He also maybe be to accurate power shots will keep callum away from bulldozing in.

 

The problem is with Groves, is that every man and his dog are under the impression that he is in the elite of the divison because of his 2 fights with Froch. In the first fight he knocked down Froch and won the lions share of the rounds before getting stopped. Was it controversial? Yes it certainly was, but there's no doubt that Groves was tiring and the stoppage was just delaying the inevitable. The second fight was a lot closer and he got knocked out clean. Could it have been because Froch maybe underestimated him in the first fight?

Groves took a break then worked his way up to a third shot at a world title against arguably the weakest champion in the division in Badou Jack. Once again every man and his dog claimed that this was an easy win for Groves. What happened there then? He got beat by clearly the better fight and passed the blame onto his trainer, something which slowly looks like becoming common practise with Groves. Passing the blame onto Booth then Fitzpatrick....

In my opinion, Groves is definately world level, but he is clearly not at elite level. He is slowly starting to look like a gatekeeper at world level. If he fights Smith now then it's a real 50/50. However, in a few years with Smith progressing so fast this fight would not be close at all. Hence, why Groves is so eager to make the fight now. He knows that Eddie has that golden ticket to the Sky PPV factory, and is waiting for his plane to land.

 

I like Groves, but Callum wins allday.

 

Have you seen (when he does use it) groves long arms and jab? It's one of the best in SMW.
