Do you know what the word CIRCUMSTANCES means?

Canelo HAD THE OPPORTUNITY to fight the likes of Floyd and Cotto in huge fights.

GG has not had those same OPPORTUNITIES.

I shouldn't need to explain this to you.

He fought for the lineal belt.

Which means as the lineal MW title holder, he is OBLIGATED to fight other MW's.

If he doesn't want to play with the big boys, let him f*ck off back to JMW.

But how can he not be big enough to fight MW's, when he can weigh in at 172 pounds come fight night?

    Laughable.

    1. Under the circumstances, he shouldn't have to compromise to fight for the lineal MW belt. If you were any sort of a boxing fan, you would be ripping Oscar, Canelo and the WBC for what they're doing. It's only going to encourage more fighters to do the same.

    2. Once again, negotiations haven't taken place yet, because the fight is not imminent.

He's not obligated to do a damn thing:deal

Weighing 172 does not change the fact that he has only fought WW's and Jr MW's.

Since Gigi is such a tiny MW...why can't he make 155???:think

After all..it was his team that said he'd fight ANYBODY from 154 to 168..

Dude.. I know it sucks but thats the way this sport is... The greedy ridiculous ABC belts GGG loves so much are to blame.

THE ABCs approve these fights.. GGG would also chase big money if he was in the same position. Ffs he was gunning for Floyd at 154.

You don't think he's obligated to fight other MW's, even though he's carrying the lineal MW belt?

    F*ck me!

Why should GG even try and make 155, when Canelo has moved up to HIS division and won the lineal belt?

Yes, they said they'd fight big fights between 154-168. But fighting a big fight against the likes of Floyd at 154, isn't the same as dropping to 155 to fight for the lineal MW belt, when he's already a MW champ himself.

How can you not see that?

How can you not criticise Oscar, Canelo and the WBC?

I think he's going to milk the MW strap and drop back down to 154.:deal

Canelo can't even beat too many Jr MW's.

    He's surrounded by as.s-whippings everywhere he looks.

Then he needs to drop the belt and stop wasting everyone's time.
It's clear he's not made to carry the burden and obligations that come with a mw belt.

He'll likely drop it after the Khan debacle of a fight.

    I've got to go.

I can't continue to debate with people who won't criticise the system, and who have no concept of people's circumstances or the business side of the sport.

    Probably not.
There are other options. GiGi is after all, 34 yo. and Canelo is just 25. GBP can pull a Calzaghe and stall against time.

And arguably losing to a few of them. Be great if he stepped up like those top opponents that gave him a chance - in fact as belt holder it should be a given that he is ready, willing and able to lay the smack down at 160 to any challenger. :deal

He NEVER had a written offer for the May date.

GBP asked the WBC for an extension and K2 agreed to it.

Perhaps under some underlying stipulations, we dont know, but GGG will make more stepping aside and making his regualr 2 mil, than he would fighitng Canelo for 10%:patsch:patsch:patsch

Correction, those fights were those fighters biggest pay day including Floyd's. Canelo even went down in weight to make one happen.

What is GGG willing to do to finally get a top name on his resume? Why isn't he making more noise and putting these fighters on the spot? Why isn't he calling Canelo's bluff?

He's not trying his best to make these fights happen.

He also needs to realize Canelo isn't Ward. He will not be dictating much against an A side like Canelo.

Maybe he is content being considered the most feared man in boxing.
