There was nothing wrong with Dawson's beard in his prime at 175. His career going to into the ****per had nothing to do with his chin.

His chin was certainly below average, he was floored by an Eric Harding jab, wasn't he? Adamek had him nearly out, no shame there but that was a heart pounding moment.

All in all he fought at a high level for a little while and that was that. People that I know that knew Chad always said he did not stay focused between fights and allowed the hangers on and drama to infiltrate his camp in a very negative way.

Guys with bad chins get knocked out not knocked down. Anyone can get knocked down.

Not in his prime. Ward was the first to stop him and he was drained in that fight. By the time Stevenson got to him, he was shot. Pascal and Adamek didn't stop him and they could punch at 175. Clottey got knocked down by a Cotto jab, does he have a glass chin also? It's boxing and knockdowns happen. There was nothing wrong with Dawson's beard in his prime.

I agree. Dawson himself knocked down Adamek who had an insane chin.

    Ward took his soul.

Shame really, he was talented and blessed with great boxing ability.

That's fair. I guess being a fan of his, I was always worried about him getting stopped due to the Harding jab knockdown and the beating Adamek gave him momentarily.

Cheers. I was a fan also but I never worried about his beard. It seemed pretty sturdy to me. On this board, if a fighter gets stunned or knocked down, all of the sudden he can't take a punch. People are saying that now about Crawford because he got buzzed in the Gamboa fight. Hearns is the classic example. The only people that put him down could really crack yet the prevailing thought seems to be that he had a glass chin. I don't mean to ramble on but this subject kind of bothers me.

As soon as Chad left fms his career started to go down hill. Pretty the dude was unbeaten with sr, and you could tell his levels changed.

Chad was a very good A level fighter, within 2 years of leaving Sr he went from A to B to a reas bad C level bad Chad , and bad was truly his level. Not sure what he has left to give, even if he repaired everything with Sr. Too many dangerous lhw's at the moment.

He should challenge ward at 175 or pascal, so he can gauge where he's at. Pascal would be great for Chad right now. Beat the hell out of him again, see if he has any fight left
