bellew comes across well and highlighted something that a lot of boxing fans tend to ignore or make excuses for their favourite fighters. as he said natural bodybuilders cant gain lean muscle as quickly as the likes of Anthony Joshua has. Factor in he is training for an endurance sport and it boggles the mind how anyone thinks he is clean. and I say this as a big Joshua fan but go and ask any bodybuilder or anyone in a sports nutrition and conditioning field and they will tell you the same thing
Euginio Monterio who I boxed in my last fight failed on 3 different steroids in the after fight drug tests, all cheaters in combat sports are scumbags! The BBBoC banned him for a measly 6 months. That told him. WTF
Maybe I'm wrong but I can't remember Stallone being a boxer? Belle detests PED's being used in our great sport but unless you believe that Rocky was a real boxer I can't see the harm in Stallone using them if he feels he needs to because the only person he can harm is himself!!
I dunno about banned for life.. there should always be second chances.. but yea in general increase the safety much as possible.. and you can't lump mistakes taking a supplement.. recreational drugs and all that into the same thing.. In most cases the inorganic PEDs can harm the person more taking it.. or it doesn't make a significant difference anyway.. John McDermott an example..
In most cases death happens.. in a sustained beating.. when there's only fist with gloves involved.. At the same time bad TKOs can happen sure..
Stallone wasn't risking anyone else's life but his own! He wasn't using PEDs to give himself unnatural power so he could hurt someone he was doing it for his own aesthetics- that's his choice! When you conceal it and enter a boxing ring then you involve someone else in it and that's a disgrace. It happened to me in amateur boxing and the ****hole I fought got banned for life but then just turned pro and his ban didn't count. Utter scumbag behaviour. Lowest of the low.
Those who use PEDs and fight are scum. It is no different from what margarito did loading his wraps against cotto. Opponents have families, their own health to look after but these *****s are so selfish their own needs come first. I would ban them for life. Once you use PEDs you can never then again be 'clean' even if you've stopped using them the advantage you gained through use stays with you to some degree.
Why does everyone automatically think it's Joshua his size is not that out of the ordinary he is 6 foot 6 and weighs just over 105 kilos ... thats about par for the course for a boxer of that size. Not saying he is clean but the hate is just to much on this forum. On the PED issue completely agree with Bellew on this life bans no second chances, all boxers are educated enough to know what they can and cannot put in their body. Gaining an unfair advantage in a sport where your life is on the line everytime you go in the ring is shameful and ban from the sport and criminal charges should be made. The testing in UK is probably as good as it gets but even that is still not the standard that is needed to rid the sport of these horrible excuses of human beings. The attitude from the public especially in the US is equally as bad excusing what they are doing and being happy with the pathetic bands handed about by the US boxing authorities. The whole of boxing needs to make a stand and say no more blood passports year round random testing and no excuses.
Makes me laugh how the idiots on here that slate Joshua's physique don't realise that the man is a genetic freak. He's got a world class time in the 100 meters, won an olympic gold with little experience... The man would look better than the rest of the population even if he was a postman.
