hey Beatle why dont you head back in the "Ward/kovalev isnt a done deal" thread and answer my question what great/good technical boxers has ward avoided in his career?
I bet those Haymon fighters are better off financially:deal Leo Santa Cruz (Haymon)made 750G fighting Jesus Ruiz. Sergey Kovalev(Duva) made 500G fighting BERNARD HOPKINS. Artur Beterbiev(Haymon) a guy with 10 fights, is cashing checks Kovelev will never see. Marcos Maidana(Haymon) retired and set for life. Vassily Jirov (Haymon's first fighter) retired and set for life. I don't see Pritchit Colon's(Haymon) family asking for help to pay his medical expenses. In Haymon's world a Bantamweight makes more fighting a contender than a Light Heavweight does fighting an ATG.:deal
Are people still spouting this ****. How many Eddie Hearn boxers beat "Al Haymon Boxers" in 2015? There were whole threads dedicated to Hearn fighters owning Haymon fighters. You guys probably posted on them with glee. Has Tim Bradley been frantically trying to get fights with Al Haymon boxers ... and Haymon is blocking them? Give me a break. What's the fight people have been talking about all week? Canelo vs. Khan. Khan is a "Haymon fighter." Canelo is a Golden Boy fighter. Is Khan the FAVORITE? Is Haymon terrified of putting Khan in because there's a "chance" Canelo might beat him? Canelo is EXPECTED to beat him. Was Badou Jack (a Haymon fighter) the favorite entering his fight with George Groves? :-( Was Charles Marting a FAVORITE to beat Glazkov? Haymon has been working with a LOT of promoters who are willing to work with him. Oscar's suing him ... and Canelo-Khan is on. Duva is suing him ... Glazkov got more money than he made in his life to fight Martin. Arum is suing him ... and Mayweather-Pacquiao got made. The only people blocking big fights from happening are the promoters like Arum and Oscar ... who used to have it all to themselves ... and they got overrun by a guy who changed the business model. Arum and Oscar would rather take money from networks and gouge fans with PPVs than invest any money of their own. That's all. When they don't have to put up their own money ... (like with Mayweather-Pac and Glazkov-Martin and others) they work with him every time. :good
bring that up ...and they will say "well yeah but haymons model is failing miserably....they are losing money hand over fist" as if they are rooting for a hedge fund firm that al got some money from over haymon himself? "man what al is doing to waddel(however you spell it) & reed...hes bleeding them".... fighters are getting paid.....you guys shouldnt be worried about the stock price or performance of a hedge fund....friggin idiots
Thurman-Porter and Frampton-Quigg are some of the best matches for the year, let alone the next 2 months. I haven't been thrilled with some of the PBC cards last year, but it's not like all of them were one sided matches. I expect more parity in the matches this upcoming year.
You need to stop fantasizing about other people's money, otherwise you'll always be a bum. Al Haymon is bad for you, because you are a boxing fan - not a boxer. Before Al Haymon, the boxers made good money by fighting evenly-matched opponents. With Al Haymon, they make money fighting bums, because the world is full of idiots who watch that rubbish.
wtf does that have to do with making good fights, you jackhole? are you a fight fan or a fan of bank accounts youll never touch?
They did? Before Haymon, boxing was filled with evenly-matched bouts and everyone was well paid? Um. No. Good Lord. This thread is dead before it even got started.
I can't believe the biggest Calzaghe fan on the site is complaining about fighters not meeting in their primes. :rofl:rofl
Haymon protects his stars, not all his fighters. That should be obvious since I'm sure you've seen Haymon boxers fight each other. In the case of Khan, it's a huge money fight; Khan gets knocked out every 3 or 4 years, and the fans still like watching him. Haymon knows we won't think any less of Khan for losing to a superstar middleweight. That's a smart business decision. Also, some experts are picking Khan to outbox Canelo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIoulPLj9_Q http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qA_KlVc5jWE
Ys, they make 3 good fights a year. Compare that to a few years ago when we saw about 60 good fights a year.
So, even you don't believe what you wrote in your first post. You're backtracking already. Nice try, friend. But this isn't going anywhere. The promoters suing Haymon are the ones blocking fights. They got terrified because Haymon paid more and changed the business model on them. If they had to pay upfront like he does, they'd go broke before him. So they sued him. That's all it is. Basically. Haymon's not blocking anything. When Arum or Oscar want to work with his fighters (see Floyd-Pac/Canelo-Khan), it immediately gets done. That tells you all you need to know.
If his name were Al Hernandez(and he were several shades lighter) they'd be praising him. We know why they really hate Al Haymon.:yep What other manager or promoter are they hating? Hell.. Top Rank's offices were raided by the FBI. Top Rank was investigated for fixing fights... Top Rank was fined for buying rankings. Bob Arum has stolen MILLIONS from Pac Man. GBP has investors fleeing because Oscar is a coked up cross dresser..They're all the way down to Estrella TV Meanwhile.. Al Haymon is getting hated on:nut
