    Chris John should be appreciated more than he is, in my opinion.

    1. It was Chris Johns 32nd fight when he won the FW WBA int world title and his next fight was his first defence of the WBA FW title

    Consider before John won his world title he had already beaten former champ Ratanachai Sor Vorapin

    2. John made 18 title defences over his reign and was a winner of 16 world title fights, 3 draws

    3. Johns FW reign was impressive

    owner of the WBA super and IBF FW titles when John beat Marquez, who went on to win various other titles

    John won the WBA INT FW title when he beat O Leon. From there John went on to make an impressive amount of FW title defences where he beat some impressive fighters including the great J M Marquez along the way, whos career went on in impressive fashion.
    John also showed no problem with taking his title on the road and defending in Australia, America, Japan, Singapore and in those title fights he successfully defended on foreign ground 9 times proving himself an ATG

    What was bogus about it? John knew how to box and handle many different type of styles

    Typical biased hometown decision with two bogus point deductions for borderline low-blows for good measure.:-(


    Had that fight been scored correctly this thread would not even exist.

    Do you mean like when Khan was deducted 2 points and had someone in the crowd mix with the judges and then celebrate with the winner?

    i ordered the john v gainer fight at the time to see what john was like /
    never saw the marquez fight but from memory boxing news said it was close.

    john was a fast handed competent fighter as gainer was a talent and marquez an atg.

    must be a legend in his country.

    Chris John could have been the GOAT of his division if he managed to reach 50-0 & 20 title defenses (he did 18 title defenses)

    People who say John v Marquez was a robbery I very much doubt watched the fight. It was as clear a victory for John as Bradley's was over Marquez. I think these people are just bandwagon jumpers who claim something is a robbery because Marquez said it was.

    And not to mention was fighting someone who was juiced up to the gills in their backgarden. And still more people thought Khan won than thought Cheaterson did.

    True, and even after it should've been changed to an NC when Peterson admitted he was on the sauce for the fight.

    Not yet. I was banned for a month for pointing out the the UK currently has more world champions than any other nation. Apparently, this gets a lot of Americans knickers in a twist and it's nationalistic trolling now the answer to the most world champions is not America.

    I will check them out shortly though.

    It might just be the other way around. Most people have never seen the fight and just go by boxrec.

    Check my history I've posted links to that fight plenty of times to make my point about the robbery and I stand by it.:deal

    Tell me again how the point deductions for questionable low blows were anything but biased bull****.:huh
