Did he? Now that you mention it, I remember something happening but didn't think an actual offer was ever made. I know there was a little talk of those 2 fighting at one time but felt that Oscar thought winky was somewhat high risk, low reward. I think oscar would have outboxed Winky personally but believe Oscar was concerned the fight wouldn't sell and wouldn't make much money.

Oscar's biggest fights during his prime:

    Ruelas - W
    Molina - W
    Hernandez - W
    Chavez - W
    Chavez - W
    Whitaker - W
    Quartey - W
Trinidad - L* (on paper but everyone knows oscar won)
Mosley - L (legit close loss)
    Castellijo - W
    Vargas - W
Mosley - L *(another brutal, blatant robbery)

During Oscar's prime, he only truly lost once, to an undefeated prime Shane mosley. Its a ridiculous resume and had those 2 fights been scored fairly and Oscar got the W on paper, he would be way up the ATG ladder.

The only argument you can make is Winky. However, given all the other tough fights Oscar stepped up to, I don't think it's a big deal.

Nope. Winky was offered a contract and turned it down.

Oscar in a way got what he deserved for fighting Hopkins at a catchweight, he should of just fought him at 160. Either ways, massive ***** for facing Hopkins. Oscar in reality didn't lose his biggest fight, which was against Trinidad, which was a cluster**** of a fight, like Mayweather-Pacquiao, didn't live up to the hype.

Oscar offered Winky a (then career-high) payday of $6m and he rejected it.

Kostya lost to Phillips when their fight was being lined up.

    No-one avoided "prime" Judah.

I'm not Oscar's biggest fan but he didn't avoid anyone.

Oscar ducked the great and legendary Azumah Nelson at Junior Lightweight. I remember back in the day on the way up Bob Arum claiming how great Oscar was and would win the title at 130 pounds. Don King Promotions and Al Braverman in particular offered them a title shot at Azumah. Top rank did not answer and fought Jimmy Bredhal for the WBO title. Says it all really.

Oscar was also faded when he fought Mayorga.
Correct, my bad, they were at the same weight but Forrest was never in the picture when Oscar was at welter. There was never even talk of those 2 fighting around 97-2000. Oscar was facing undefeated mosley and Trinidad and also Whitaker in mega fights. Where was Forrest? I assume he had no name to him or drawing power. It wasn't until he beat mosley in 2002 he became relevant to the big fighters. and Oscar had moved up.
And wright wasnt robbed against vargas. It was close and Vargas landed the harder punches and landed more punches and better connect%. Don't know how anyone can call a fight a robbery where the guy who wins lands more punches and harder punches. And vargas landed 100 more power punches! The judges got it right.

And you're a blatant Oscar hater. Can't take anyone seriously who says oscar lost all of his close fights that he actually lost, but then turn around and say he lost all of the close fights he actually won.

Nelson was having Leija problems at the time, in fact lost to Leija right about the time DLH beat Bredahl.

You guys can keep pulling names out your ass but the fact remains that DLH has one of the toughest resumes of current times.

Nobody has fought as many #1 PFP fighters as he did. You can accuse DLH of anything but ducking.

Nelson was scared out of his wits of the great and legendary Irish fighter Barry McGuigan and he ducked the hell out of him for years.

Judah wasnt a WW when Oscar was beating Coley and Gatti and Castillejo was a top LMW and not a WW either.
Forrest wasnt a factor for a long time and De La Hoya fought the fighter that Forrest lost to in 3 rounds. As for Wright he was a naturally bigger fighter and once again Oscar fought and beat Vargas who had got past Wright.

Another poor troll thread especially when you have a fighter who fought so many top fighters across so many weight divisions
