Not true. Bruce Lee had some fight experience. He supposedly had a few boxing matches in China, apparently he lost them.

The guy has to be one of the most overated people of all time in terms of martial arts.

Supposedly yes he did have some fights but under very dubious circumstances hard to verify and very limited in number. It's a contested point even now. The point here however is that he wasn't a career fighter but rather a career entertainer. So that's the comparison to make.

    Lol. I was being sarcastic.

Like I said, he's ridiculously overrated when it comes to actual fighting. I remember a guy on here arguing that if Bruce were alive today he'd easily be UFC champion, guaranteed.

Kinda reminds me of Steven Segal - never achieved a single thing when it comes to fighting yet for some reason people seem to think he's an amazing fighter. Lol

LOl ok. Yeah it's all a myth really. Look the guy was a cool dude, but the time for myth and legends has been supplanted by actual fighters. Seagull (sic) is just hilarious. He's the quintessential traditional martial arts fraudster.

Theory and application are two very different things.

People like Seagal and Lee are intelligent fighters with good theory but their application is almost bordering on zero. Were they physically talented, I think so but fighting differs from all other sports because of the intangibles required.

Imagine ****ne Wenger talking football but never playing. He'd sound like the best ever but the reality was that when it came to application he wasn't so good.

The amount of variables associated with intangibles make it impossible for anyone ever to predict anything about fighting/fighters without actually seeing it happen for real in a competitive environment.

As they say, talk is cheap.

But with technology evolving rapidly with advances in gloves why train the bare hands on the bags?

Due to Mayweather's soft hands he would be useless in a street fight!

As for Bruce Lee you all need to do your research, plenty on youtube, look it up!

If you are that good no one will want to fight you, the best martial artists all concurred that Lee was the best.

I told you all at the beginning of my posts my qualifications, over 40 years of active boxing experience. As a fighter I have studied all forms of martial arts, boxing is the most powerful martial art in my opinion and I call my style of boxing, 'The Way of the Iron Fist!

Paulie, I did not say to use bare hands on the bags! Bag Mitts are not the same as boxing gloves, boxing gloves give more cushioning than mitts. Therefore using boxing gloves on the bags does not harden the knuckles as well as using bag mitts.

Which will hurt more if the same force is used?
A harden fist in a boxing glove or a soft fist in a boxing glove?

I'm wondering if his alt, tai chi, is going to reappear, or will there be somebody new (maybe another national amateur champion) that will agree with him.

I'm not new check my ip Brah he's on amateur_boxing at Reddit.com under the name taichichuanstance. He's been under other names too. He's a kid and a real boxer he has posted vids of himself fighting. Wouldn't want to meet him in a back alley the kid can take a shot and is aggressive, and got a right cross dunno maybe a little psycho lol. He just came back from training with Abel Sanchez it's all there on his site. TC says that he looks like jack Dempsey and which is true. Been talking to him talking him for over a year until he spooked lol and changed his name. The dude is real tho.
Same style as Dempsey off the front foot. Me I'm the philly shell he be cool tho. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ENiJs6_2P2A

How do you practice power without a heavy bag?
