Not the most exciting but seeing as Ortiz had very little time to find somebody it could of been worse.

Damn. Thompson is shot. Probbaly not a good fight for him.

But he feels he can win, and he has come back from the brink before.

It is a far better fight than Ortiz-Dimitrenko would have been, and two of my favourite fighters.

Ortiz should win this, but I don't remember a single Thompon fight (except maybe Klitschko II) where he proved to be an easy opponent. Also, he is still Ortiz' second best opponent to date, second only to Jennings.

    War!

Better than the aforementioned Dimitrenko and Samuel Peter. Thompson already exposed Odlanier Solis big time. Good fight!

    War?

He lost every round to Pulev. He lost every round to Takam. He lost every round to Scott except for the round where he scored the weird knockdown (Scott is a mess).

Thompson's whole rep is based on beating David Price twice and defeating a bloated Solis who basically quit because he was too fat.

Thompson is not very good. He never has been. He's always been a gatekeeper like Jesse Ferguson. He's nobody to type the word "WAR" over, that's for sure.

Exposed Solis? Solis exposed himself. Thompson just happened to be the guy on the other side of the ring who didn't weigh 300 pounds that night.

Thompson is probably the best available opponent on such short notice, but I can't see that fight being competetive... Ortiz will knock him out, brutally I'm afraid.
