Not necessarily. Kovalev is alot rangier, taller and strong.

Qawi was a nasty fighter for sure, very determined and tough. but he would have to dodge alot of bombs. his upperbody movement was very good, yeh damn he could hurt kovalev. But kovalev has good footwork, he does know to move back and can counter. Im not sure you want to be walking into them. He had an extra 20lbs for holyfield and an extra 50lbs for old foreman.

 

Kovalev gets hit by crude Pascal, I see no reason why Qawi wouldn't get to him. Qawi could also take a punch. I think Kovalev would take a beating from Qawi from what I have seen so far.

 

alot of these fighters get plaudits for moving up and going the distance or being pummelled by bigger men, surviving for a while. but ultimately losing.

Im pretty sure kovalev could hang with some of the top cruisers, beating a few, getting stopped by a few. at hw he would lose aswell, it wouldnt be complete wipeouts! kovalev is a little too cute for that.

 

I'd like to see Kovalev in with someone like James Scott before I start picking him over great light-heavyweights. I think Scott would have given him hell.

qawi was a little predictable, hopkins would like a shorthouse coming towards him all night. he picks them fighters apart, and so clever to tie up.

 

Are you serious? Hopkins wouldn't last five rounds with Qawi. Qawi would literally walk right through him. Stuff is starting to get pretty deep in here. Hopkins wins over the scrubs he faced at light-heavyweight don't mean he would be competitive against Qawi.

qawi would be countered to hell by hopkins. Hopkins kryptonite is speedsters, athletic guys with physical advantages. a short armed pressure fighter wouldnt have it easy with the trapsetter the crafty alien.

 

Kovalev beats all these guys. I think you could even put two of them in there and Kovalev would demolition them. His technology is too fierce. He's not from some punk hood neighborhood, he is from a place that has no pity. There are no food stamps. None of these guys would last a second there or likely even have become boxers, they would have been food for the likes of kovalev.
