For the record on John's fight vs Marquez, there was no television for that fight. I dont think it was even televised to Mexico.

Fightnews was the only boxing website with a boxing correspondent at the fight. That correspondent happened to be based in Indonesia, so you can just imagine the bias of his reporting.

In any regards, every newpaper or television news entitiy reported the happenings from what fightnews reported. None actually watched the fight. It wasn't until weeks after the fight had passed that Marquez vs John videotape started circulating the internet. It wasn't until then that some boxing websites started reporting it as as robbery.
Pedro Fernandez of Ringtalk who's not even a Marquez fan and didn't consider him an elite fighter at the time even called it the "Heist of the year!"

I wont even argue with anyone anymore about why it was a joke of a decision. The fight is there to see to anyone interested on YouTube.

I've yet to encounter someone that scored John/Marquez to Marquez who can actually discuss their opinion without dismissing whatever is said and leaving the thread.

John won that fight and I've participated in long threads about this bout. I've watched it start to finish three times... At least one point deduction was warranted. Marquez strayed low off and on throughout the fight. Even without the deductions, I would have had John winning narrow. It was a good, close fight.

 

Look at all the different countries John has fought in as well. It's crazy.

For someone with a reputation for "staying at home," he sure was the world traveler.

 

Fight was televised and a recording done.

 

Fought in 3 different continents, which is pretth impressive for a "stay at home" guy.

Also for those who haven't seen it, tbe Enoki fight was brilliant, really advise watching it

 

should be banned forever you punk.

 

People say Calzaghe was a stay at home fighter, but he fought outside his own country a higher % of times than the likes of Ward or Mayweather fought outside their own state. :deal

I guess you are BUTTHURT that despite you lot having 5x the population, 500x the PED cheats, and 10x the chances, you can't muster up as many world champions

I'm a Marquez fan you tool, more so than a Chris John fan. I loved it when Marquez pinned PED cheat Pacquiao to the ground.

 

There's good reason why John never gets mentioned with the great featherweights.

1. He got clearly beat by the only great featherweight he faced,
and
2. When he went to the US to get recognized and make a name for himself, he looked terrible against a shot, lead footed Rocky Juarez who's career was hanging by a thread.

In both John's fights with Juarez he was on the verge of getting stopped in the 12th round.
