I was just thinking about this the other day. In order:

    Foreman KO 2 Frazier
    Dempsey KO 3 Willard
    Tyson KO 1 Spinks
    Liston KO 1 Patterson

After that its really up for debate...

Marciano way behind, one punching Jersey Joe out in the 13th was pretty dramatic.

I'd put it wayyyy up high in the most dramatic, but being way behind eliminates it from this thread imo. Dominating is probably the word.

It would make a great thread actually, "Most dramatic (insert lineal if need be) title winning performance".

    I guess non-heavyweight linear titles don't exist.

You're officially a bunch of simps. Wear the title with pride.

Don't be a bystander now, grace the thread with your pearls of lower weight dominance.

I don't mind giving Tyson his due but l was around at the time and a fair number of fighters, including Spinks, entered the ring scared ****less of him long before the first punch was ever thrown.

**** Sadler said that before the Frazier fight, he told George "Take charge early, George. Show him how strong you are." George certainly did.

When did Foster win the heavyweight championship of the world? Spinks was a heavyweight champion, from memory Foster had nothing but nightmares up there.

Foster was given no hope, Spinks actually had plenty of support. Nothing alike.

Spinks never ever was a real hw it is all i need to know. Spinks picked his rivals cautiously at hw. A finished holmes, a finished ****ey, no tony tucker, spoon, thomas, smith etc.
Spinks vs tyson is overrated like hell

Revisionist history. Spinks beat the man and therefore became the man, he took the mantle. Holmes was still beating off challengers even if they were selectively chosen and he was the peoples champ. Tyson was some way off being a champ, and wasn't actually "the man" until he beat Spinks.

Beating Holmes absolutely gives Spinks some credibility at Heavyweight, certainly a lot more than poor Bob. It's there for all to see in the record books.

Spinks was a paper champ at hw. Pure garbage, he proved nothing. It is like saying that norton was the man who did beat ali so he was the man.bull**** . another guys in the list would have killed him like foreman, shavers, lyle etc
