Paulie wearing boxing gloves all the time on the bags will not harden a fighters hands.
And if it does it would take an great deal longer than if they wore the bag mitts which were designed for this purpose.

Want strong hands, get a Manuel job, better still start using a climbing wall. Hitting a bag wont help.

    Body-bag, Wall-square, Pads.

Besides, you don't "practice" power. You either have it or you don't.

2 years ago I cut open my knuckle from a hard punch which I had thrown. Mind I had old gloves on, and upon impact skin tore and hit a nerve as well needless to say the glove was sooked in my own blood. After being through hand surgery I can say use well padded gloves. This is what angered me with ADYBRRADY and his dangerous advice.

In my experience, hitting the bag lets me practice my power by finding my form.

Paulie what you described demonstrates to me that you did not punch correctly!

You amateurs tend to teach your boxers to connect with the first two knuckles or first three knuckles. If you have power and try to connect with the bag in this way, then you will damage your fist!

Boxers are taught to aim for the first two knuckles because by doing this they will make contact with all 4.

Myself I believe that double end bags are essential because this allows one to practise double hooks even if they aren't hard.
