Very poor and weak trolling. It may be effective for casuals, but for those who know, this is the same type of misleading nonsense the media used against Hopkins for most of his career.

Hopkins took the Trinidad and ODLH fights specifically because of his past abuse by the media.
If my memory isn't failing me, wasn't Hopkins the under-dog against Trinidad? Why?
Because the media led people to believe that Trinidad moving up in weight was a boxer superior to the then MW king, Hopkins.

Hopkins didn't ask for the media's respect. He took it by displaying master class boxing against the media favorite Trinidad.
Hopkins did it totally his way and forced the media to give up that respect.

Roy Jones was always the protected media darling. Having strong promoters to back him while Hopkins had to promote himself.
Jones was the white collar worker and Hopkins was the blue collar coal miner/ditch digger who through rough and unforgiving hard work made it pay off by dedication and hard work alone, with no help from the Anti-Hopkins boxing establishment and media.

I tend to support that kind of under-dog. :yep

Tell me what exactly is nonsense?

It was 3 years before Bernard (a renowned fitness fanatic) committed to fighting in the MW division.

He made incredible sacrifices to remain there.

    He's 6'1, with a 75" reach.

He wasn't going anywhere for years, he was just content to defend his IBF belt against whoever was put in front of him.

There were much better opponents at SMW and LHW.

Even after he'd won King's tournament, he remained at MW for another 5 years.

In 2008, he admitted he could have moved up 6 years earlier, which was 2002 when he turned Roy down.

Tell me what you don't agree with.

Bernard was a great fighter. But he stayed in a weak division and had physical advantages over nearly all of his opponents, only leaving the division in 2006 after suffering back to back defeats.

Roy never tied in to a promoter, and he did things on his own terms. Many people criticise him for that, because they think it cost him big fights.

BHOP is what can be described as a boxing late bloomer mainly because unlike Jones, BHOP lacked the same kind of amateur experience Olympians like Ali, Jones, SRL, Tarver and others possessed.

I can't say with any authority that Hopkins having no amateur experience was a detriment or actually became an asset, but I can say that he overachieved and overcame any lack of amateur experience that other elite boxers had.

You can't deny that the media and boxing establishment were trying Jones steaks, pork chops, and Strawberry Koolaid while throwing Hopkins chitterlings, pig's feet and luke warm water.

Hopkins had to bum rush the table and snatch those choice pieces of meat himself. :yep

Sure, Bernard came up the hard way.

Roy was more of a name and he was far more exciting.

It took Bernard a long time to gain respect and recognition. But he has to take some responsibility for that. Roy moved up to SMW and LHW, facing named fighters like Toney and Hill etc, whilst Bernard remained at MW, where he was somewhat under the radar for the most part.

If he'd have moved up earlier, he probably would have gained more exposure/recognition.

What, until Roy was completely shot to pieces?

That's the only time Bernard would have beaten Roy.

Athleticism with a hint of ring IQ was always Bernard's kyrptonite.

    Calzaghe
    RJJ (Prime)
    Pascal
    Dawson
    Taylor

    See the pattern?

Besides, Roy dared to be great and went up to HW.

What did 'Nard do? Go up two weight-classes?

Who exactly did 'Nard beat during his overrated and frankly forgotten undefeated 10 year reign as MW Champ?

    Hardly bum-rushed any table.

    Give me some examples?

Roy fought plenty of guys who HBO were happy with.

They also helped him to try and make big fights with Dariusz and Hopkins.

They publicly supported him when he was finding it hard to get guys like Liles in the ring.

They had an approved list of fighters.

They knew that he had mandatory obligations to fulfil.

 No disrepect but that's slanted rubbish.

Where Glen Johnson and Tarver's KO wins over Jones because he was shot to pieces and was Hopkin's TKO win over the more fresh and prime Johnson discounted for the same lame reason.

You guy's shift the marker when it's convenient.
Like, the Tarver Hopkins beat wasn't the same fighter who faced Jones, and the Trinanda that TKO'ed Joppy was just a blown up WW that Hopkins should have beaten anyway.
Yet, the fact remain that going into the Trinidad fight, it was Hopkins who the media made the underdog.
Like George Foreman said throughout the fight, "Yeah, Hopkins is game, but just wait until he feels that power, then the fight is over".
Yeah, right. At least Foreman left a permanent record of the media bias that existed before, during and even after the fight.
Before the fight, Hopkins was expected to lose. During the fight media expected Hopkins to lose. After the fight and Hopkins won, then it was changed to Trinidad being a small guy who Hopkins picked on.

    Are you stupid?

I'm saying that Roy's style was always wrong for Hopkins.

Hopkins fought Roy long after he was done. Jesus, he fought TWO YEARS AFTER Calzaghe fought him!:lol:

Hopkins "MW Reign" is a farce. Mixture of nobodies, never were's and blown up welters.
