Who Won The Roy Jones Vs Bernard Hopkins Rivialry?

As if Jones any time from the last 10 years would have lasted 90 seconds in the ring with Kovalev.

There's a good chance Kovalev from that night would stop any version of Jones before the halfway point. Even if Jones was using banned substances, as he may well have been for the duration of his 175 pound prime.

He was patiently biding his time, looking for spots, and probably hoping Sergey would slow down. The openings never came, and Hopkins was indeed completely neutralized offensively. Can't deny that.

Kovalev is an outstanding fighter, and proved his worth to me that night, but the old crafty veteran still exhibited enough defensive prowess to survive 12 rounds against the monstrous punching power of Sergey Kovalev.

I don't think Jones from the last 10 years would have lasted 90 seconds with that version of Kovalev. And I'm being quite serious.

Hopkins is more durable, more intelligent, and more defensively sound than Roy has ever been, which is why I'd favor any version of Kovalev over any version of Jones by KO.

The funniest part is, Roy acted as if going 12 with Tarver in their rubber match was some master achievement. He never even tried to win that fight with Tarver.

I wonder if he applauded Roy's disappointing non-effort on that particularly evening.

So tell us what you thought of Roy's efforts in Tarver III?

Where was this brave effort of a man going out on his shield? Or is it really a matter of mediocre defense combined with terrible punch resistance that caused him "to go out on his shield" all those other times he was brutally KO'd?
