the fight is scheduled for 20 rounds. Would a prime Tunney be able to beat a prime JJ who is obviously past his best here, but still put up a courageous performance against Jess.

Second part, if you believe that Tunney can beat that Johnson... does he also beat the Johnson of the Jeffries fight?

I would say yes to the first question, and no to the second.

I think peak for peak, Johnson was the better of the two, but a peak Tunney was better than a faded, rusty, past prime Johnson.

Prime Tunney beats any version of JJ.

Up to 1950 or so, Nat Fleisher (Ring) had Jack Johnson ranked #1 of them all.
He had seen them all. But, that is only one man's opinion...but one punch from a great hvywt can win any fight against anyone.

Fliescher ALWAYS ranked Johnson No 1.

Prime Johnson beats prime Tunney. Old Johnson loses to prime Tunney.

Yes...Tunney was a very MODERN heavyweight champion...worlds apart from anyone Johnson ever fought in style and quality.

I agree with you. Still see Johnson winning, though, but it would be close.

Johnson plays with tunney humiliates him And then he picks the round where he finishes the job
