No, this fight will show why Khans name should never have been mentioned alongside Floyds in the first place.

And I agree that he's definitely going to give it his all. Khan has always tried his best, often recklessly to his own demise. And an interesting comparison with DLH-Pac. When Pac-DLH was first announced, I was absolutely 100% convinced that DLH would walk through him. With this fight, I'm convinced Canelo will win, but he can see him looking bad in spots, and possibly even struggling for a long stretch. But I was dead wrong about Pac-DLH and might very well be here, too.

The one thing I'm kicking myself over forgetting to mention in the video is conditioning. I think I said it here previously in this thread, but Khan is a superbly conditioned athlete. And Canelo, well, I've never liked his activity rate, especially for a young fighter. If Khan could ever stay disciplined, using his feet and his quick jab, occasionally following it with his right hand, while avoiding 4, 5, and 6 punch combinations, I think he can outbox Canelo.

Problem is, that is an awful lot of "IFs" and sooner or later, I think Khan will get careless. And even if he doesn't get careless, he can be timed, and Canelo is fairly good at making minor subtle adjustments.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I'm actually more interested in this fight - in terms of clash of styles - than I was in Canelo-Cotto.

I'm not exactly mentioning him alongside Floyd, though.

I'm merely stating that Khan's "poor-man's version" of Floyd's blueprint could be enough to trouble Canelo at times. Nothing more, nothing less.

They ran reruns of it back to back with CHiPs on Saturday's nights when I was a kid. It's a great show, its like a campier MacGyver.

    My pleasure Rummy!. :good

You make some solid points regarding Khan being timed. Reality is, he will also be easily timed in this one because his approach has always been predictable and remains so.

There are two points to consider here regarding being actually effective after timing and landing on Khan. First point is, having the power to actually hurt him. Peterson, Kotelnik, Malignaggi, Molina, Algieri, Alexander and others. ALL those fighters did time and land on him numerous times with the same exact punches simply because Khan is predictable with his attacks. The reason why they weren't effective is because they had no power to back up those punches. Molina was landed endlessly with the same exact hook that Garcia knocked Khan down with but had nothing behind it. The second and final point is, being actually able to catch him. Khan's raw speed is what makes it hard to catch him, not his movement or ring IQ(which as mentioned already, is basic and predictable). His speed is what brought him the silver medal, not skills and it's the same case in the professional ranks. His speed is taking him too far and if he uses it effectively here and moves out constantly before Alvarez throws, he can actually do something in this fight and dare I say, win it.

Now regarding conditioning, both are known to tire and gas out. Even Khan, in his awesome conditioning, is known to tire and slow down late in fights. If he does tire late in this fight, any punch, even from a tired Alvarez, could very well end it right there and then. Khan's team didn't take this fight if they didn't know they have a solid chance. Sure the payday is one of them, but it's definitely not all. Khan is only 29 years old and can still provide a lot more to simply cash out and away now.

Of course, everything could very well go out the window in the very first round if Alvarez is able to simply charge, get in and lands clean blows. We'll have to wait and see. :D

I pretty much agree with all of this. But I will say that I think Canelo will probably start off patiently in the first round. So a first round "charge" from Canelo would surprise me (although a well times counter wouldn't).
