No question about it. Roy is getting a boxing lesson from The Phantom or laid out flat on his back by him. :deal

:patsch Futch wasnt in the ring fighting Jones that night

Imperial you did write recently that you would always favour Jones and wrote something like even if he was fighting next week you would pick for Jones. You are a fan and that is fine, but to favour Jones at SMW over a SMW legend is going far.

Ottke beat prime Johnson who beat Jones
Ottke beat Tarver who beat Jones

You are a fan and thats fine but you shouldnt let theses things cloud your decisions

Yeah its one of those fights I could see 2 different scenarios. One where its a close fight where Ottke does enough to get the decision and another where that sneaky punch that caught Mundine comes into play and ends matters.
I think overall I see it as a points win for Ottke, but actually think it would be quite close, say like 115-112 for Ottke. I do think Jones would have his moments, but Ottke had a great chin and defence and would have been a handful for Jones on the inside

There is somewhat of a blueprint but I dont think Jones style would have been the answer

Well it depends. Are we talking about Roy or Roid aka prime Roy? If it's the former then Ottke via KO sometime around the 7th or 8th round is my pick. If it's the later then it's a much closer fight. How's about we level the playing field and hypothetically supe Ottke up with industrial doses of PEDs like Roid was on? Or what about Ottke on Roid's roids facing clean Roy? Either way, Roy's taking a big L if that were the case and via KO :yep

Like I said earlier, Anthony Mundine is basically a non roided Roy.

Unlucky.I have no envy of ottke at all .he is one of the most overrated protected fighters ever.A home town hero light punching amateurish joke.struggled with reid do really think jones would have to use a home town decision to beat reid??.not a chance reid would be Ko ed in a few rnds and so would sven if he had the bottle to face Jones.

Your Ottke envy has been duly noted by Team Phantom on a number of threads about him. It would be wise if you displayed a little more reverence towards boxing royalty like Herr Ottke in the future. I sincerely hope I don't have to remind you of this again. :good

Hmm why don't you answer the question about reid?who are team phantom?some sort of gay dance troupe perhaps? I did find watching herr ottke a very good cure for insomnia I think only the rattle from the god awful heavy metal band stopped the crowd from drifting into a coma.

Hmm why don't you switch your sense of humour to ON instead? That way it might dawn on you that I'm not being serious. :patsch

Exactly my thinking. Ottke doesn't punch that hard, but he would only have to connect once and we all know Jones would be on wobbly knees. And when Ottke has you in trouble he knew how to finish (see above video) :yep

I can't really get involved too much here.

    It's just silly.

It would have been akin to a drag race between a decent car and a Lamborghini.

It's too silly to even do a breakdown.

It's a thread made by a ret*rd, hoping to see Roy get hated on.

Ottke had many many miles on his odometer by that fight and was far out of his prime. He had a very long amateur career of 308 fights, was 36 at the time of the fight, and his interest in boxing was not even close to what it once was. He fought one more match and retired.

Ottke could have gone into a slapping contest with Calzaghe and come out on top. That's how fast he was.

SMW legend  listen if you don't know how valuable Eddie Fucth was to any fighter let alone Montell Griffen then I don't know what to tell you..But then again I shouldn't expect much from someone who's boxing knowledge comes from boxing rec.
