Floyd had no trademark win and people consider him ATG.

:good Excellent post. Summed it up really well.

I also think that an indication of greatness is the number of people that had concrete offers to fight him ( and in some cases were mandatory defences) and managed to dodge the bullet.

Sturm, Martinez, Chavez jr, Saunders, Cotto, Froch and now possibly Canelo too.

It's actually crazy since a win over Golovkin would pretty much make you "the man" at 160.

It would have been nice to have seen GGG / Ward but I think the stumbling block there was and probably always will be the money. A win over Ward (especially considering the severe weight disadvantage) would have been the signature win the detractors want.

Not without a trademark win. Unifying the division after beating up 10 skittles doesn't translate to greatness.

Yes .people on this forum claim that vlad is a atg and he got sparked out by journey men.if GGG keeps winning then why not .he is the man at middle weight and until he is beaten no one can complain.

pacman is not a trademark win?

Floyds worst wins are on par with the ones 3g should have fought but hasn't cotto and canelo.

Shot to pieces one armed roid-less version of Pacman.

His other trademark win was suckerpunching Ortiz.

Cotto is an overrated ***** who was smashed by Margarito and Canelo was an overhyped rookie back then and still is in a way, without judges in his pocket he'd have at least 3 losses already.

GGG has a better resume if you take into account his amateur career and he fought in a higher weightclass.

No, he cannot be an ATG if he doesn't beat anybody good.

    "The Ward fight should happen"

ya....well its obvious they don't want to fight him unless they see some sort of weakness in him

if ward beats kovalev you can be sure they will want no part of him......if he were to get knocked out or beaten they might consider it...if he looks ripe and beatable they'll consider it...otherwise no chance....

ggg/ward could/should be taking place in march/april .....but its painfully obvious gggs people didn't want it...they didn't want it when he was coming off many months of inactivity.......cant imagine theyd want it if he goes to 175 and beats the man

    1.Nilson Tapia WBA
    2.Kassim Ouma WBA
3.Lajuan Simon WBA and wins IBO
    4.Makoto Fuchigami WBA and IBO
    5.Gregorz Proksa WBA and IBO
    6.Gabriel Rosado WBA and IBO
    7.Nobuhiro Ishida WBA and IBO
    8.Matthew Macklin WBA and IBO
    9.Curtis Stevens WBA and IBO
    10.Osamanu Adama WBA and IBO
11.Daniel Geale WBA Super and IBO
12.Marco Antonio Rubio WBA Super and IBO
13.Martin Murray WBA Super and IBO
14.Willie Monroe Jr WBA Super and IBO
15.David Lemieux WBA Super, IBF, and IBO

Unless you don't count the WBA regular title or the IBO title he should have 15 title defenses. If you only count the WBA Super belt and IBF belts as legit then he's got five. If you only count lineal, then he has none. It depends on what you are willing to count.

Well no one considers Jacobs a real Champ so that should answer the question about the "regular " title, and the IBO damn sure isn't a real Workd Title
