I remember when the fight got announced, I was hyped! They were arguably the two best 130 pounders at that time risking their undefeated records. I was a huge Chico fan back then, and even to this day he is one of my favorite fighters ever, and actually thought he would beat Floyd.

Little did I know or understand how great Floyd was and how great he would be 14 years later! He put on a clinic and displayed a set of skills that I haven't seen maybe since Ray Leonard was still an active fighter.

He dominated a fighter who was deemed indomitable, it was amazing! I don't care about the PED talk or whatever hate you have for Floyd, this was one of the best performances in the last 15 years!:deal

No, you were seven years old.

It's one of the best performances of the 00's and the greatest of all times performance at that weight and of floyd's career.

People mention the Hatton, Marquez, Canelo fights - but this performance tops them all. At 147 and 154 you'd pick many fighters tp beat that Floyd, but when he beat Corrales, you'd pick NOBODY at that weight to beat him.

I never believed in the Corrales hype, but Floyd was punch perfect that night. Truly 10/10.

Corrales was drained, he couldn't make weight safely, he asked Flyid to fight at 135, but IV replayed "take it or leave it".

One of the few times Mayweather didn't have hand problems, and it showed.

Are you guys mentally ill? Corrales had to lose 30lbs in 2-3 weeks to make weight and was severely discombobulated. When you lose that much water, it can affect the fluid in your brain that protects it when being hit from bouncing off the "outer walls" Floyd wasn't a heavy puncher, and corrales had a decent chin, yet every punch was abnormally affecting corrales. This was because of the lack of fluid in the brain.
Corrales begged Floyd for a rematch a few lbs heavier where he had enough time to lose the weight properly, but of course Floyd took that win and ran. Win of the decade? You've gotta me kidding me.
Mosley beating Oscar was MUCH BIGGER than that. Even Jones beating Ruiz at Heavy was way bigger than anything Floyd did.

It was a great performance by Floyd but tainted by some circumstances. Weight issues, possible jail time, etc.

In retrospect, Barrera-Hamed was a better win that year alone.

    Naz was done come 2001.

I'm a brit, but his prime was up until around '98/'99.

I can think of plenty wins from the 2000's which are better and greater so it's not one of the top performance of the 2000's.

    Lewis-Vitali
    Forrest-Mosley
    Mayorga-Forrest
    Barrera-Hamed
    Barrera-Morales III
    Morales-Pacquiao
    Pacquiao-Marquez II
    Pacquiao-Cotto
    Pacquiao-Barrera I
    Marquez-Pacquiao I
    Margarito-Cotto I
    Mosley-DLH I
    Hopkins-Trinidad
    Calzaghe-Kessler
    Taylor-Hopkins
    Froch-Pascal I

Could think of more if I put my mind to it. You're overrating that win.

He looked done because he comes unglued at the ATG level. Barrera is too much for the poorly skilled Naz.

I don't buy that. Hamed was in his physical prime and considered a top 10 PFP fighter at the time. In fact, that win put Barrera ahead
of FLoyd on the RIng's PFP list.

Yeah great fight. Corrales had a great challenge ahead of him. 2 weeks to drop 30 lbs!
