    Two guys with censored names.

****ey stepped up to Bowes level once against prime Holmes and did pretty okay, Holmes had to box a masterful fight on the backfoot to neutralize Gerrys ****nal however.

Bowe would be happy to mix it up with Gerry on the inside and Gerry was probably a better puncher than anyone Bowe fought.

You have to give ****ey a good chance here, if Holyfield could deck Bowe heavily with his hook, then Gerrys could certainly do the trick. And I can't say I was impressed by Bowes power really, he seemed to have the usual raw big man strength but not really explosive and truly powerful punches like Lewis or Tyson. He seemed to wear down guys over the course of a fight so I think ****ey could live with him.

    What do you say, classic?

    I would say Bowe.

Maybe Gerry hits him with a big left hook and wobbles Bowe but I would be surprised if Bowe didn't struggle threw the cob webs to win by KO or at least a decision.

    prime for prime of course.

Bowe had the better big fight temperament. Extreme confidence, even when taking a rediculous beating Bowe still had that petulant attitude that he was still somehow better. That's hard to break and why psychologically Bowe is so much stronger.

After he was beaten the first time, Gil Clancy said Gerry had such problems with anxiety that it drained him of energy. With hindsight his career was over then. Before that, by his own admission ****ey thought he was superman.

So whilst Gerry fought gallantly against Holmes that fight messed him up. Psychologically he never got over the disappointment, he was proberbly unable to reproduce that kind if effort and he would need it with Bowe.

So it depends what Gerry ****ey Bowe fights. Pre Holmes ****ey can really win. Rid**** was so easy to hit and he has no size advantage either.

I liked Gerry C0oneys effort against Jimmy Young who everybody else found hard to hit. Jimmy was 31, in shape and with Eddie Futch in his corner and ****ey just tore him apart.

Post Holmes ****ey has no chance against Bowe.

With you, here, Puge. Bowe was not a devastating hitter and if he tries that big looping right against a left hooker he could be in trouble.

His chin was also questionable. To have been decked as he was against that version of Holyfield does not bode well against a proper heavy hitter.

But for all that, Bowe was the more natural fighter, More poise and more savvy and always mentally ready, if not physically. I'll go Bowe but wouldn't bet heavily on it.

The Holyfield vs Lewis fights prove otherwise. Bowe separated Holy from his senses. Lewis could not do the same against a worse Holyfield in 24 rounds.

That version of Evander hit Douglas so hard , Buster had to be carried out the ring on a stretcher.
It was the same punch Bowe got up from , before then knocking Holyfield out.

Gerry C00ney was a good fighter and certainly much better than people give him credit for being these days.. But when two very large and hard hitting men meet in the center of the ring, I have to favor the one with more proven durability and stamina.. Not to mention the better wins on his record.. C00ney's long arms, punching power and underrated boxing ability coupled with Bowe's poor defense would make it interesting however, and an upset is certainly plausible.. But Gerry will get hit and take his fair share of shots and didn't have the chin to withstand it for long.
