Fighters get fat between camps sometimes. Maidana does it all the time.

Getting fat was Corrales fault 100% but that doesn't mean it doesn't remove some value from Floyds win. It happened and thats that.

Yes, he was a contender. A pretty good one who clearly defined his spot in boxing. He beat Gatti, Julio Diaz, and Ivan Rohinson, only losing to the top tier.

 

Diaz name looks good on his resume but he got a gift on that one. The Robinson win is not that impressive.

That being the P4P listing of 2000...does not mean jack and rarely is it correct. If you compare the Division Ranking Hamed is top 3 for 6 years, Because Corrales fought the weight above him and divisional wise was only top 3 for 2 years, so as I said the P4P list is total BS just look at it from 98 to 99 Floyd jumps from 8th 1998 to 2nd in 1999 with 4 wins over not good opposition
Where as Hamed was 9th in 98 then won 3 and dropped out of the top 10 by 99 even after winning his 3 fights yet Floyd jumped 6 places. RANKINGS = BS

There was serious hype around mayweather Marquez. Marquez was a top fighter and gave pacquiao all he could handle and Floyd took every round from him

 

What's forgotten is Mayweather is a lot bigger than Marquez and Pacquiao.

Floyd asked a career featherweight to come to 144 pounds. Then he literally cheated.
