Martin goes right in unlike the WBC fraud who fights Molina in his first defense. Even though he had more fights and was an Olympian.
yes there will be the look of fear In he's eyes when they touch gloves the look of terror when Joshua hits him and the look of death when he is lying on the ground unconscious
well...fight 16 and Joshua might end up a world titlist. Then he has stepped up to that level where he cannot turn back. He was concerned about this. But alas money talks......
Tempting for people that are tempted to throw money down the toilet. Martin has about a 50/50 chance of seeing the 3rd round.
i heard the talk about martin being offered the fight also jennings never heard until just now they were looking at stiverne. imo team joshua were right to go for it if he wins he can fit in some gimmee fights like wilder and learn on the job. the only fighters i would not put joshua in with early is wlad /parker/ortiz / wilder is a big money fight if joshua comes through martin so the rewards are higher i would also put him in with fury for a huge money fight. parker is to dangerous for to little money snap with ortiz wlad is a no win fight for joshua if fury gets past him again . no crteit for a win and wlad is still a dangerous fighter / just met a styles in fury he found hard
Didn't think this would actually happen, I expected something to prevent it happening with one side asking for too much or some condition that couldn't be agreed on. Kudos for both sides to agreeing this fight. Martin maybe clearly cashing out but it's still impressive that he wanted the fight and I doubt he'll just give up the title, he will be in there thinking he has a chance, probably hopes AJ's inexperience will cost him. Also brave for Hearn to throw Joshua in so early, while it seems like an easy title shot, you never know, this is heavyweight boxing, one punch can end it all and what happens after is where the real risk will be. It would have been safer to give AJ more time to improve and mature.
either hearn paid martin enough to overide any haymon contract clauses or joshua will have to defend against a couple of haymon fighters if he wins is what i guess happened. i read glaskov turned down wilder because of prohibitive clauses if he won.
