Haye is WBA ranked but would in reality get the fake shot against Chagaev and co because Fury has no interest in him I suspect he will still go the IBF hoping for a Wembley Stadium AJ fight in the Summer But the WBC route enables him to lure Wilder into the English route. Haye would be the ideal build up to AJ or Fury
Hearn won't let Haye anywhere near AJ until he has no choice. Hearn will drop Hayes name all the time but he won't want to make that fight. AJ is the Matchroom cash-cow and will be protected as much as possible.
It's been the case for a long time that if you keep winning and you have a bit of hype behind you get into the top 15. I'd like more transparency as regards to rankings but it's boxing so that's not happening.
I doubt Wilder would want it with Haye post that sparring session. Actually, I doubt Deontay would want to fight Haye even if that hadn't happened. It's not like he's known for seeking out 'world class' opposition is it? And as Povetkin can attest, the WBC have been utterly useless in making Wilder fulfil his mandatory title defence commitments.
AJ is the money fight and that's all DH is after. No way he takes the Wilder fight. He knows that's too dangerous and for lower reward.
Don't be fooled into thinking Wilder would be scared of Haye after they sparred. That's the complete opposite to the truth.
These days it's not just about being the best, you have to wait your turn, be in with the right promoters etc.. I think if haye gets any of these big fights it should be with somebody like Povetkin. There all the talk about who is dodging Haye but I don't reckon he'd fancy that one very much !
He's saying that guys like Molia who should be easy work for elite world champions are giving Wilder hell. If he Haye has anything left (I thought he looked noticeably slower in his first fight in years) then Wilder will be loosing that strap.. Wilders completion is awful bar one decent fight. Hes ducking and sliding and trying to make easy fights. Haye will go IBF route now its a huge fight and if AJ looses so what he can come back Hayes a former belt holder no disgrace there and then SKY can have the whole redemption angle to generate sales. Just look how many 2nd chances Audley got
I'm wondering what makes him think that Wilder would have taken any sort of confidence out of having sparred Haye considering how one sided it was.
