Brits hype everyone of their people, see a bum like David Price who came into the ring with live army music. AJ is the real deal though, just a bit stiff. He's hyped because he mentally destroys his opponents with his power. He beat the guys Wilder beat in his 30 th's fights when he just turned pro recently and in a more spectacular fashion.

Bryant Jennings has more impressive athleticism but didn't get a hype because he can not punch.

You will see his head move plenty when Martin shatters that glass.

He is hyped because of a few things. Publicists/promoters/the media etc, amateur achievements, his knockouts, his physical traits including size, appearance and athleticism and he has also showed some good boxing ability for his level of experience.

All those things combined are why he is hyped, not just his muscles. He is rightly considered an exciting prospect.

In the Martin fight, he is underrated at 7-1

Hyped is giving him odds over 20-1

He is facing I am so lucky Martin, who is probably celebrating getting paid that 2.3 M :smoke

People love a heavyweight destroyer who looks like the Hulk. That's like printing money for all parties involved.

He's hyped because he's British and won an Olympic gold medal.

Title and OP been edited? I'm sure it used to say "hyped due to his athleticism/muscles"

fI think his athleticism is overstated. Yes he's clearly very powerful and physically very imposing. But Wlad and Lewis were more athletic, they were both faster and more explosive than Joshua. I also think Parker is currently more athletic.

If Joshua becomes a HOF'er it will be due to a combination of power, size, rings smarts, intimidation factor, solid fundamentals, hard work ethic,, mental fortitude and good management.

Athleticism alone isn't enough look at Amir Khan, he's one of the most gifted British boxers ever, lightening fast hands and feet but the ring IQ of a journeymen.

Martin has a better chance of shattering his knee cartilage.

Athleticism? Because he'd look good with his shirt off at the pool?

You'll find when AJ gets pushed deeper into the late rounds, his arms will be dropping, and he'll gas. It was evident in the Whyte fight, clearly evident. If Martin has any sense he'll adopt a counter punching tactic, let AJ go hard in the first 4-5 rounds and then start picking him off with his Soutpaw stance when the arms drop.

...and regards to HOF??? We haven't even seen him do anything apart from look ugly at times against an overrated Dillian Whyte.

With all respect to GGG & Wilder

If Anthony Joshua wins by KO he will make history, instantly securing a place in the HOF, because he will be the first Heavyweight Champion ever to have a 100% KO ratio & it will be an eternity before someone can break his record :think

Frank Bruno just as impressive physique looking wise, but gassed horribly in the second half of fights and could never recover after being hurt to win a fight.

Joshua could end up the same...as a result of his freakishly muscular frame...which gobbles up lots of oxygen and will leave him gassed.

...And there is a difference between the looks physique wise and the actual athletic strength and explosiveness, a big difference. Body builders with the biggest muscles and most cut frames, are nowhere hear as athletic or strong or athletic as Olympic weight lifters for example.
