That's exatly what I originally thought too.
It is a sweet contract, but it very well be that Ward took the dough at the expense of his remaining career.

He would have been better at PBC, but may have also needed to make some major changes in his management staff.

Yeah, because targeting a soft touch like Kovalev is the much easier route to venture.

Haymon didn't want him. Managers and promoters don't like fighters that file lawsuits with bogus charges. If not for Roc Nation Ward would probably still be on the shelf. Also Haymon had a good working relation with Dan Gooosen and probably realized that Andre Ward is not worth the trouble.

It was the Ward and Prince factor. Ward doesn't even need Prince at this point he could manage his own career or have his wife do it for him. Ward also has 4 kids. Get them working for you also. Fukk a James Prince!

Perhaps Haymon doesn't like Andre Ward.

He wouldn't have gotten the Kovalev fight if he was on PBC. While Stevenson is kicking rocks, Kovalev and Ward are fighting on PPV. Thank you Al Gaymon for not picking up Ward!

Plus, Al Gaymon is failing. He's going bankrupt and nothing anyone can do to save him now.

You could be generous and lend him a few mil.

I dont think it's the promotinal company that is keeping Ward from having more fights. Hunter and Ward are the only one's stopping it.

The boxing establishment as a whole has lost faith on Ward delivering. The Kov fight is not set in stone and will have nothing to do with ROC or Main Events if it doesnt come off. Only Ward is to blame. His track record already speaks for itself.

I think you may have a point.

It's a shame the #2 P4P fighter has come to this state.

Ward be headed towards a Roy Jones type future unless he can find someone who can offer him some wise business consul.

Do you think he is pulling a con job? Ward vs Kovalev isn't really a big money fight for either guy. I wonder if the Roc Nation contract has that clause in it where if the fighter gets injured time stops? Most boxing contracts have that to deter fighters from trying to kill time off the contract by claiming injured.
