He probably will never do a million buys, even if he fought Canelo. That fight would MAAAYBE do 700k. The man is simply not popular enough. He's not American and doesn't have enough time.

But who the fk cares about his buys. Are you his promoter?? Do you have a vested financial interest in Golovkins sell rate?

As a fan, however, I will say this. GGG is a bigger draw than Kovalev, Ward, Chocolatito, Jacobs, Quillin, Charlo, Lara, Bradley, Rios, Khan, Thurman, Garcia, etc. After Cotto and Canelo he's the biggest draw in the sport. Not bad at all for only having fought in USA for 4 years.

Golovkin vs. Alvarez does a million, possibly. I could see it.

If Cotto Canelo didn't then Canelo GGG has no chance.

Yet his ppv was a horrible failure. Every boxer is doing a million plus views on non PPV

Cotto has staying & long-established and drawing power, sure, but his star is by no means ascendant. Golovkin's is. Even casuals sort of "got it" that Cotto as middleweight champ was kind of a farce. GGG is getting a big push from HBO and never fails to entertain the way he's expected to...

    Not even close.

I'm sure Fury would have no problem packing Wembley stadium. Probably Joshua too given the right opponent. Then there are the Canadians, like Stevenson and Pascal, who routinely fight in front of packed houses in Montreal.

He doesn't need to do a million PPV. He'll be wildly profitable and make himself solid purses if he can get repeat PPV viewership in the 350/400k region. That'd be massive for him.

Yeah, but that's because it was Lemieux. Who is being fought matters. Canelo didn't crack a mil vs. Cotto because everybody realized it was a middleweight championship tilt w/o a true middleweight anywhere in sight.

This match-up would be greater than its sum parts. Golovkin versus a big name will fetch bigger numbers for him, and Canelo versus a real middleweight (and the guy considered the best in the world and getting a years-long major HBO push, at that) fetches him correspondingly bigger numbers as well.

It may end up in the same neighborhood as Canelo vs. Cotto, a tad shy, or it could just crack seven digits.

Why idiots continue to throw out the number 97 K when HBO(a public company with shareholders,by the way) announced it was 150 K.

Notice the fighters you mentioned are OUTSIDE the U.S.
Pascal and Stevendon are on their way out.
As for Fury and Joshua you are correct they are massive in the UK
