I like Kovalev becauzes he's exciting and fight's top comp I bash GGG because he's the opposite. It has nothing to do with race and all to do with over hyping for nothing.
When given the chance to face an elite fighter GGG has either side stepped his shot for someone else (Cotto/Canelo) or just made excuses (Ward/Lara) all the ducking talk is opinion but what I just posted is irrefutable facts.

Kanvalev and Bumlovkin have been putting on a HBO sanctioned Dog and Pony show for years now and there isn't ONE SIGNIFICANT WIN between them. NOT ONE.

He wants to fight at 160 pounds for the belts. As the mandatory he can do that.

He's exciting and the fans like it. It's not that hard to understand why he has fans when you realize they think his fights are entertaining.

 

But they're KO'ing people. That's what people enjoy.

 

I think Kovalev is more tolerable because his fanbase isn't becoming as rabid as Golovkin's. I like both guys and I love watching their fights.

 

They're KO'ing 20-1 underdog TOMATO CANs. I fail to see anything enjoyable about watching mismatches...

 

Many people do which is exactly why they dominate the board and fans keep talking about them.

 

He's also fighting bums and passing up big fight's so it shouldn't be hard to understand why he gets bashed also.

I mean there are plenty of entertain fighters who actually fight people, so what is the hype for. Now I'm not saying this to turn people against him, I endorse anything that brings more light to the sport.

For me tho most of us aren't casuals so we can debate our opinions honestly. I seen plenty of fighters say they were ducked the difference is when presented with the chance they took it. GGG has had 3 opportunity so far and stepped aside.

 

Other than being the top dog in their divisions and having their counterparts running scared they have done nothing!
