Why did Hughie Fury duck Joshua when he still doesn't have an opponent named?

Ducking is a very strong word to be using, especially for guys not yet at the top of their division. Maybe they both want to progress still, and ride it out for a while. Having the fight at a later point would make a lot more sense, especially if Hughie can become a household name.

Peter Fury doesn't see Joshua as a top 10 heavyweight which is quite mental imo. Thinks Hughie should be ranked higher, I know it's his son but that makes no sense whatsoever.

Jennings is the name expected

 

They said the opponent to be announced today is in all the Top 10s, if we exclude those who are otherwise engaged with scheduled fights that can only leave a handful of likely opponents ...

 

Highly doubt Hennessy can afford Jennings if he couldn't even afford Fedosov

 

Jennings maybe coming off 2 losses but this is still a huge step up for Hughie IMO.

 

Yeah, plus losses to Wlad and Ortiz aren't really that bad

 

If it's Jennings I'll be impressed. Jennings will know his career is basically on the line and I'd expect him to outwork hughie.

 

Jennings is good.
Possibly better than Martin, possibly better than Joshua, possibly better than Wilder.

BUT ... that defeat to Ortiz might have knocked some stuffing out of him.
Anyway, it's a very risky fight if they take it.
