Klitschko brothers (Germany was the base of their star power), Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, Povetkin, Marco Huck, Usyk..

Where? Kovalez was fighting for free. Gennady was struggling in Germany. The only fighter that got big without the U.S. was DAVID HAYE for all that don't know.

The biggest problem is boxing currently lacks a defining triangle or quadrangle. Each decade has had guys carrying the sport by fighting each other.

    1970s-Ali, Frazier, Norton, Foreman
    1980s-Duran, Leonard, Hagler, Hearns
1990s-Jones Jr. Hopkins, Toney, Holyfield, Tyson
    2000s-Pacquiao, Morales, Barrera, Marquez

Here in the 2010's we've yet to have a defining triangle or somebody who can fight two top guys in their prime, etc.

We've had some great fights like Gonzalez-Estrada, Williams-Martinez. But can that really compare to the entertainment and quality of the previous decades?

Boxing needs a top echelon of fighters getting in the ring together again. After that everything will fall into place. People keep complaining that Pacquiao threads dominate the forum still even years after he hasn't KO'ed anybody. But what else should be dominating the forums? GGG is KO'ing Murray and Lemieux. Ward has been inactive and yet to fight a truly great fighter. Plus he's not very TV friendly. Kovalev is a great personality, but he's going to have to fight somebody better than old Hopkins and Pascal.

Klitschko wasn't fighting in the US for like 10 years until the relatively insignificant Jennings fight. Povetkin never fought in the US. Arthur Abraham fought 95% of his fights in Germany. Anthony Joshua never fought in the US and your heavyweight champion is going to UK to fight him. Uchiyama never fought in the US. I can go on for a full page.

Obviously people will keep coming to the US for $, doesn't mean you people own the world.

Wilder, Povetkin, Fury, Klitschko. Here you have a great quadrangle. You can throw Haye in the mix too. 10s are superior to 00s to me.

10s are developing into the best decade in the history of boxing.

I enjoyed Wladimir Klitschko fights in the 10s, now he lost and the HW division is more exciting than ever. Heavyweight division is and always will be the most important in boxing.

We're also witnessing the rise of Kovalev, GGG and Lomachenko. They're better than stars of the 00s.

I'm not that interested in lower weight classes but we had epic matches like Pac-Marquez IV and Floyd-Pac which broke all the records by far.

    We're only half way in.

    You must be new.

The 70's-90's absolutely DESTROY the 10's.

Floyd/Pac was epic? In what way other than the numbers?

HW is more exciting than ever? Get a grip.

    You're clueless.

Before the 90s there were no Eastern Europeans in pro boxing, basically half of the boxing world wasn't even allowed to compete so those eras were flawed. As soon as communism fell apart Eastern Europeans are starting to dominate boxing which proves that all those previous eras were missing great fighters from that part of the world, ergo they were weaker eras with less competition.

Now we're finally seeing these true fighters and the devastation of the entire divisions by the likes of Klitschko, Kovalev and GGG. Marco Huck had a great run at CW too, the division which has other great EE fighters like Lebedev, Drozd, Usyk, Glowacki...

Before the 90s these fighters would never be able to compete, who knows how many great boxers those previous eras missed. Kovalev and GGG represent entirely new level of boxing

It was a good fight, I don't care if the casuals who only like fights like Gatti Ward didn't like it.

Scariest thing is, I don't see any more potential stars, I mean we have one in Canelo but I mean that's about it isn't it?

The big problem is that usually the star mantle is passed down to the next guy in the ring and thats the quickest way to s****om. Lets just say Floyd comes out of retirement and fight DSG and DSG wins the fight. He goes from a guy known by every hardcore fan and most casuals to a household name. (see Holly Holm) The best thing that could happen to boxing is for Floyd to lose to a young fighter and if it happens by ko itll make headlines around the world.

Just look at the history of boxing for the most part the man beats the man and becomes the man until someone beats him. Just look at how floyd and manny became household names by beating Oscar. Hopkins gained his popularity by beating Tito. Roy by beating Toney. But since Floyd isnt going to take a fight against anyone dangerous he`ll retire undefeated after beating whomever he faces in his comeback which i expect wont be anyone dangerous.

I agree dude UFC does bad TV numbers and their PPV numbers aren't even official numbers...MMA fans say Conor McGregor is the biggest draw in Combat Sports but really only hardcore MMA fans actually know who he is.

This is coming from a Hardcore MMA fan also.
