Interesting, proves my point. That mexican was handy but frampton adapted and beat him.

I agree it doesn't 'expose' Frampton at all. the quigg fight will be completely different

Good posts here by knowledgeable fans.
Frampton boxed brilliantly for most of the remaining 11 rounds vs Gonzalez. People need to remember his father beat Kevin Kelly. This was a Mexican guy with pedigree IN A TITLE FIGHT. Of course he was going to be tough. In his next fight ...a carbon copy...fast start, floored his man etc ...but lost again due to hand damage. Be a real shame if Gonzalez was to fade into obscutity due to the boxers curse if hand trouble. He clearly hits too hard for his own hands.

Frampton boxed brilliantly at times vs Gonzalez. It was a boxing clinic. Impressive to behold. Certainly better than anything we've seen from Quigg.

Guerfi was dropped by a body shot, he got up and had the better of the last third of the round, and most of the reamaining rounds.

Guerfi also gave Gonzalez a boxing lesson for most of the fight, and strange that Gonzalez suggested he injured his Right hand, when it was the left that he dropped Guerfi with, and he was still throwing big shots with the right in the later rounds.

I don't think Framptons chinny at all, when you see how many punches he takes, his chin would have been cracked by now had it been glassy.

I'm also unsure why Frampton's team mention his lateral movement ? when under pressure he moves back and forward in straight lines, and his main form of defence is to use his gloves as ear muffs and hug his opponent.

I genuinely do think he was complacent... he thought he was going to go in there on the night, absolutely walk it and look the dogs *******s on his US TV network debut.

That attitude is all wrong, you need to have some jitters and be completely switched on with whoever your getting in the ring with - but it's a learning curve Frampton came through and at the end of the day he got back to his boxing then got the all important W.

When you go from headlining big arenas with a great atmosphere to fighting a non-name in America during the afternoon with no hype in the arena you can understand if he wasn't "up" for it.

Also there really WAS a weight issue. They planned to take off the last few pounds in saunas to conserve energy. When they got to Texas ....no saunas. So he had to train it off, which drained him no doubt.

All that being said, overall he boxed very expertly for the vast majority of the fight. I was really very impressed.
    So we're the U.S. commentators.

At the end of the day he started slow, 2 flash knock downs in the early rounds... woke up and went on to win the fight with some classy boxing.
