Do you think Khan actually believed Canelo was a safer route than brook?

i think he gets KOed by both pretty early. brook is better than canelo imo. this fight seems to be a cherrypick by both khan and canelo. canelo picking khan because he's afraid of the middleweight king, and khan picking canelo because he'd rather get KOed by canelo than his classmate back in high school who so happens to be the best welterweight in the world, and has been for years. what do you guys think. canelo is the more lucrative fight(i can be wrong because a khan-brook fight at wembley with the right advertisement and buildup leading to the fight would be huge, bigger than froch groves). now if khan somehow wins then what? do you believe he'll go to 160 to fight golovkin? he might as well just vacate because he's basically handing over the title. that fight only lasts a few seconds.

I hope not... If he believes that he's in for a brutal rude awakening.

Not a safer route, but he has much more to gain and less to lose, plus a better excuse going up 1½ weightclasses against a guy that rehydrates up to the LHW limit.

A Brook loss will trow him down a nodge on British level as well. And I surely favor Brook if they ever meet.

It has nothing to do with thiking Canelo was an easier route.... for all of his bravado, Khan deep down knows his chin is garbage, so it came down to which guy will I make more money with being KO'd by.:think And that man is Canelo.:deal

And he can still go and get paid a lot to be KO'd by Brook, he can always say, hey I went up to Caneloweight and it was too much for me, I'm a natural Welterweight,

Khan can get KOed by Nelo and still have an 8 figure payday getting KOed by Brook but not the other way around.

i think it's a mix of the risk/reward for the fights and just not liking brook (like hatton with witter)

I think he's fighting Canelo for the money, pure and simple. But you never know, Khan is probably stupid enough to actually think this is a safer route. He'll realise his mistake the first time Canelo hits him.

Yes. He watched both their fight with N'dou and Hatton and saw that Brook is clearly superior and has more power

Canelo is a bigger $$$ fight for Khan than Brook, that's all that matters

It's not the safer option imo because he has a better chance of beating Brook at 147 than he does of beating Canelo at 155 so it's definitely not a cherry pick either.

It's the high risk, high reward option. Higher risk of losing, higher risk of getting hurt but more glory if he wins.

If Khan somehow beats Canelo he will probably try to get guys like Floyd and Pacquiao or if he can't get them he'll fight some low risk, easy(ish) opponents like he has been doing lately. He might even actually retire now that I think about it, that would be a great way to bow out.

    Incorrect.

He's getting $6m for this, was getting $10m for Brook.

Higher chance of losing to Canelo, but less repercussions for it along w/ the payday. Losing to Brooke kills his career. Losing to Canelo is expected.
