First name that comes to mind would be Tommy Hearns. He would outbox Mayweather right up to the point he knocks Floyd out.
Well said. Duran would give Mayweather all sorts of problems. He could slip on the way in and counter with either hand. Floyd would miss more punches in the first 5 rounds than he usually does in 3 fights. That`s boxing.
It would take upper echelon welters and the list would be very short...Whitaker at lightweight is a tough out...Duran at his best outpoints Mayweather. Fighters like Ortiz, Loi, Perkins, Locche lose to Mayweather. Mayweather is much quicker, and just as technically sound if not more so...
Because his boxing knowledge is slim to none, he thinks Pac and Duran are the same because they are around the same size... :rofl
Great post, Klompton:good. Very provocative. It would be like a return to the 130 pound Floyd, who fought more aggressively at that weight.
Elaborate? Both Duran and Floyd were amazing ring generals at their respective styles. Duran did it against much tougher opposition and even in losses like when he fought prime Hagler he showed he had phenomenal ring IQ. So much so Hagler went on record saying he earned his PhD in boxing after he fought Duran.
