When it's all said & done, Floyd Mayweather Jr. will go down as the best ever.

Although I have him beating a couple of the names on this list, I completely agree with the context of it. Nicely put:good

Two of the greats you listed that I think Floyd would beat are Honeyghan for sure, and Arguello. I love Arguello but I think Floyd's style is all wrong for him. Infact I would put big Money on Floyd beating Arguello.

Not sure about Brown. The rest beat Floyd and some very convincingly.

Fighting in an era where there are 5 major belts, that is not an important stat

Mayweather needs to clear his name by inviting an FBI investigation or have his record expunged & be banned from boxing PERMANENTLY!!! If the NSAC & USADA REALLY think " Mr Mayweather did nothing wrong " surely they would welcome the investigation or are they afraid they'd be exposed too. Of course this will never happen to much $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ involved further proving just how corrupt boxing is

i'm not saying they all beat him, i'm just saying he would take some losses fighting the cream of the crop of the 70s-90s. i don't even like his chances against a prime de la hoya

IMO matyweather is the best defensive fighter i have seen in my era of watching boxing
    1980 to present
    sweat pea 2nd

but the best fighter of all time no

he picked opponents to suit him
    he boxed to cautiously
he never one fought in his opponents backyard always giving himself home advantage.

sven ottke retired undefeated / and while nowhere near mayweather in terms of abilty he had the same criteria and gets castigated by most on esb because of it.

Agree about the weight issue. How can a midget be the best of all boxers. Best boxer ever should mean the guy who no one could beat. They prb don't exist due to style makes fight issue.

But I'm sure Lennox, Tyson, Ali, holyfield, etc would all beat the lil man with there winky

    Lets put it in perspective....
1.. We can all agree that Floyd was blessed with incredible boxing talent
BUT Did he make full use of that talent ?? NO!!! He was mollycoddled from the day he turned pro.. His opponents were hand picked & the dangerous ones were avoided. He was so well looked after in Vegas he would not fight anywhere else. He knew he would never be allowed to lose a decision there e.g Castillo 1 & Maidana 1 when he seemed clearly beaten
Add to this the IV scandal & apparent ped's abuse there is no way he could ever be considered TBE ROFLMAO!! No way he could be called fighter of the era either That honour rightfully went to Manny Pacquaio who had to FIGHT! for all the success he achieved. No favouritism, No cheating
was Manny's way What he got he Earned !!!!!!!!
Fighter of the Era = Manny Pacquaio
