James Toney, tho!!! Ahahaha! He said it like he meant it!

 

Thing is whilst Benn and Eubank were getting ready for arguably the biggest SMW fight ever at that time, Toney was getting ready to face Prather
Then just look at the higher lever SMWs Benn and Eubank defended against

 

Hush now.

Nobody stops Eubank. His chin is as good as Toney's.

It took 21 rounds of back and forth action against a hard punching crusierweight in two fights only three months apart for Eubank to be stopped at the tail end of his career, and even then it was only because of severe swelling around one of his eyes. If he was ever truely hurt by anyone in his career then he recovered far too fast for anyone to have ever taken advantage of it to stop him.

Toney might very well have beaten him if they had fought each other in their prime, but it damn sure was going to the final bell no matter what. Nobody in history stops Eubank over 12 rounds.

 

Toney was on British TV, but Toney didnt call them out, he just talked a bit, which didnt look special when as said Eubank and Benn are there for arguably the biggest SMW fight ever at that time and Toney before facing Prather.
Maybe Toney was trying to get in on it all, but after Prather ended up facing Thornton who Eubank had beaten a year earlier

 

You can't change boxing history. Can't talk after the fact. It is what it is. The Brits were fine fighters, but they were a level below our guys then. Unknown to the world at that time.

 

Given that Eubank and Benn sold around the world to such an extent that they reportedly attracted half a billion viewers for their rematch I dont think you can legitimately claim they were "unknown to the world at that time".

 

Eubank and Benn are not in Toney's class. These would be easy wins for Toney.
