In typical fashion, people saying Canelo will duck "for the money" forget that the Mexican fans exist and/or think they're as gullible as U.S. fans.

His ratings in Mexico are through the roof and he has two networks in a bidding war for him every few fights. A loss doesn't change that. Him looking like a coward does. Whoever re-signs him after the Khan fight when his contract expires is going to expect and want a Golovkin fight to happen. If he loses, he loses. A loss also means Golovkin is much closer to leaving the Middleweight division, where Alvarez would be a favorite to become champion again.

    The fight will happen.

K2 will probably sue one of them if GGG get's screwed again with that title since all 3 parties have signed a contract.

I don't believe GGG will leave the MW division anytime soon after becoming undisputed.

He's not a big middle, and he doesn't seem to be the kind of boxer to gain weight as he ages.

He might fight the occasional over the weight superfight, but there are hardly any super middles money machines around justifying him abandonning his undispusted middle title.

Look for him to surpass Hopkins' middle title defenses record around 2018.

He didn't state that it was a contract, but a written agreement, which is not exactly bidding. :smoke

I've heard it was actually written on a piece of napkin at a restaurant they were all eating in.

After signing it, coffee was spilled on it, rendering it practically worthless. :good

No he wouldn't. People don't seem to get this but Golovkin is making a stand at 160 to bring legitimacy back into boxing. It has nothing to do with what he can or can't make. I'm willing to bet that Golovkin can make 155 a lot easier than Canelo can.

The funny thing is is that many will see Bhop as a harder challenge for GGG than Canelo.

This only means that all sides have agreed to enter into negotiations after Canelo-Khan.

If Canelo beats Khan and the G'ster refuses to negotiate a catchweight, the fight will more than likely no happen in 2016, but be pushed back to 2017.

:lol:I"m getting a kick out of watching G fans squirm. They want every aspect of when, how, and where to favor the G'ster, when the reality is that the A side is with Canelo.

Somebody needs to inform Golovkin and everyone associated with them that the B side does not set terms and call the shots. :hat

tbh, I think old B-Hop is a way harder challenge for GGG @ 168 than Canelo.

and he may even soften Golovkin enough to give Canelo the edge. Depending on the weight BHOP agrees to, it will be Little g's toughest fight to date.
Either way, it's a win/win for GBP. :yep

Was there not a similar stipulation bandied about just before Cotto/Canelo that they had (well Canelo had) 10 days if he was to win the fight to confirm whether the will defend against GGG or vacate.

Even after Canelo destroys Khan, I don't think he will want the fight.
