My point was about current situation. Golovkin was looking opponents for his next two fights before Canelo and he had to settle for Wade. Jacobs and Lee both could have taken the fight.

 

If Jacobs beats Lee then he has the best resume @ 160. Period, end of...

 

Incorrect. Golovkin's goals are to unify the middleweight division. He had to fight a unification (i.e. Saunders or Canelo) or fight his mandatory (Wade) or be stripped. Jacobs secondary title is not recognized by the IBF.

So GGG couldn't have fought either

If the Triple Duck wanted to unify the division then why accept step aside money not once but TWICE? Why not enforce his mandatory?

Lee has been stopped once in his career, by a guy who was probably 180 in the ring..and even that was stopped on his feet.

He gets dropped a bit, his powers of recovery are outstanding though
