Thurman vs Porter Off.

Discussion in 'British Boxing Forum' started by im sparticus, Feb 23, 2016.

  1. Froch talked relentlessly about avenging his losses.

Was given the chance and passed it up in order to retire.

I don't blame him, it'd been a horrible way for his career to end via a one-sided beating.

Touched a nerve, have we?

I'm not giving Keith a "pass" at all, but at least his power is proven. Kell's KO Ratio is abysmal even on a domestic level.

Warrant hype? What has Kell done to deserve his? Porter is hardly a huge scalp is it? Besides, Kell hasn't beaten a genuine world class contender except Porter who'd be in the top 10 overall rankings at welter. His "Resume" is a who's who of nobodies.

Let's face it, in your post you've summed up Kell.

Touched a nerve? Are you insane? You're the one who has tried to make this about Brook, when we were supposed to be discussing Thurman.

You've also embarrassed yourself by claiming Thurman's power has been proven at the top level. Anyone can see that his power was exaggerated from his can crushing days and hasn't carried over to better opponents.

Anyway keep talking about touched nerves in the like whilst you obsess over fighters not even mentioned in the thread :)

I'm feeling charitable so I'll give you another response. YOU said Froch had been ducking a rematch for YEARS. Until you admit that, that couldn't have possibly been the case due to Ward essentially going on hiatus, I can't even pretend to take you seriously. At best he was after a Froch payday when he nigh on 40 and coming off two struggles with Groves.

The rest we can only speculate on but those things right there are facts.

Have to agree he put Bundu on the floor and could not finished him nor did he look close to stopping him for the rest of the fight.

If you are a massive banger and you have someone on there back from round one you would favour them to go on and stop there opponent unless they have a froch like chin.

35 mins of boxing is a very long time if you have been on the floor

Ward gets the higher % from the split.

Something he doesn't deserve being Froch is putting the bums on seats and selling the PPVs

Yep. I remember a similar hype surrounding Mike Jones and we all know what happened there.
