Maidana had a title and it was a unification bout and he had come off of a damn good win over Broner..Khan had not done anything and had no title....IT WAS A UNIFICATION BOUT YET HE WAS SLAMMED....WHY?

That's just the delusion of Khan fans who think Khan is some sort of a superman whom everyone ducks. Dude will get himself killed by a light heavyweight ginger just because he's afraid of Kell Brook.

Because he said he would fight who his fans voted for him to fight next and Khan won the poll.

He was probably criticised for choosing Maidana but I don't think many people were crying out for him to face Khan instead.

There were 5 polls and Maidana won 4 of them

By Scott Gilfoid: WBA welterweight champion Marcos Maidana was beaten by Amir Khan in the week-long poll at the Mayweather Promotions website, and the victory presumably means that Khan was voted in as Mayweather’s next opponent on May 3rd. Maidana likely feels pretty bad about losing out to Khan in the poll. However, he can find solace in the fact that he totally stomped Khan in four separate polls that weren’t connected with the outcome of the Mayweather vote. Maidana beat Khan at ESPN, Fightnews, RingTV and ESPN Deportes. Maidana didn’t just beat Khan, he destroyed him. < Here are the results of the four independent polls: Maidana 78% - Khan 22%: Fightnews

    Maidana 57% – Khan 43%: RingTV

    Maidana 82% – Khan 18%: ESPN Deportes

    Maidana 62% – Khan 38%: ESPN

At the Mayweather Promotions website, Khan beat Maidana 57% to 43%

Because Maidana is a journeyman who Khan had already sonned.

I ask who these so called fast fighters Floyd avoided were, but I never get a direct answer.

It's not Floyd's fault he's faster than 95% of fighters.

All the other polls were irrelevant. It's theirs that mattered and yet... His fans are pitiful. Floyd kept lying to them and they defend everything that he does.

In all honesty. Khan won the poll, but I guess it made more sense for him to fight the man who whooped his heir apparent to the throne, which also makes a lot of sense, but i would have prefered the Khan fight.

It's the fans' fault for being gullible enough to think that they'd be able to choose who a fighter fights.

He would've copped flack regardless. Khan had shown he wasn't up to the B-level with a loss to Garcia. The only interesting thing about Maidana was that he can bang, and that brings with it a chance of a KO.
