OK....Duco has sent out a cryptic clue on who JP's next opponent is:

    Clue is:

    Number #1 Mandatory
    May 2016

Announced at 11:45am (tomorrow NZ time)

So, who in the HW alphabets is or will be May's #1 mandatory?

    I'm bloody confused.

It seems a shame that these days a prospect is either going to dominate the division for years or is a fraud.

Current guys are either the best in the world or are bums.

And for a lot of people they seem to be either Joshua or Parker fans.

I for one really like watching both. They're both exciting and I hope they both become absolute titans of the sport. Imagine a unification match 2 years down the line. Or a trilogy stretching over a few years.

    Exciting times a head anyway.

I think the general consensus is that Parker is fighting Takam....making Parker the #1 IBF Mandatory if he wins.

I suppose we can only speculate until midday tomorrow...

Hughie Fury is supposed to be fighting someone ranked with all the governing bodies

The expected fight dates don't match up though. Plus fighting Hughie wouldn't put Parker any further up the ladder in any of the rankings.

He's number 1 in the WBO anyway.

What about Ustinov? He's the is the highest ranked in the WBO who doesn't have a commitment with another governing body?

I like both as well, they are ambitious, exciting and dynamic which is something that's been missing from the division for some time and has been sorely missed.

While I don't get the need to jump on the bandwagon of one fighter and slag off the other it does make a potential rivalry more exciting.

I'd love a unification match between them in the future. I'd personally like Parker to go down the WBC route. He could beat Stiverne who is 3rd on the WBC rankings and with Joshua maybe winning the IBF belt and the loser of Wilder/Povetkin dropping down the rankings, this could see Parker as the WBC mandatory.

Then we get Parker/Joshua if Parker beats the winner of Wilder/Povetkin and then the winner fights Fury to unify.

Takam makes a lot of sense. He is the only one in IBF ranked higher than Parker aside from Joshua, Martin and Teper who is no longer relevant. Whoever wins in a fight between Takam and Parker becomes mandatory for the winner of Joshua and Teper.

    **** is escalating

That is a good point. Cheeky Duco Promotions putting out this cryptic message....clever marketing getting people talking...

Stiverne has been in camp with Parker and sparred with Parker numerous times, so the Parker camp definitely know what they will get from him, if indeed it is him...
